Well, now that I think about it, she was gone for a while. Upon further investigation, that couldn't have been you.

I just think it's odd to feel good about helping one person who they dont know, if it hurts another person they dont know just as much.
It's not a balancing scale. One person getting better isn't going to make another player worse. Winning players will make money in the long run, and losing players will lose in the long run. I don't see your point.

I've decided to respond to this. At first the thread itself angered me, but I honestly feel sorry for Marchione. He applied a couple of times to be a student of mine. The first time I said no. After talking with him in great detail, I decided to give him a shot the second time around. Huge mistake.I don't want to spend too much time talking about the dynamics of my group, because it's been six months and I will announce who the students are. But the group itself is incredibly tight nit, and very supportive of one another. The OP required more attention than anyone I have ever seen. I try to be as helpful as I possibly can, but coaching someone in a sng is not something that I do, lol.The bottom line is this. When internet poker went into a state of frenzy, my students obviously became quite concerned. Most of them were playing tons of online at the time. In fact I brought Daniel into a group chat on several occassions to try and help ease the situation. The OP lives in Australia and was not effected by the internet gaming situation to the extent that my other students were. He criticized them for being babies, and simply could not "understand" why they were so upset. I tried to explain that many of them play online full time and this was devastating. He didn't care. It was at that point that I suggested this might not be the right group for him, and that was that.As I stated before, he required much more time than anyone else I have ever encountered. But more than anything I felt that he displayed a poor attitude. Finally I had to block him from my messenger. I honestly thought that this was in the past. But this post was a direct attack on me. It's people like him who make me think that teaching is just not worth it. But then I look at my current students and it makes everything 1000x's better. I teach because I genuinely want to help people be winning poker players. But more importantly, I want them to not make the same mistakes that I did. When you compare how much some of these guys on 2+2 get in comparison to my training course, you would laugh. My own friends and mentors have told me that my rate is ridiculously low for the amount of hours that I spend with everyone. I train people for life, not just by the hour.As far as who I am. Well, I'm at that place in my poker career where I have nothing to prove anymore. The only thing that matters is that I continue to succeed at the tables. This isn't a contest, but I'm one of the few people in poker who has been fortunate enough to do this profitably for 10 years now.I wish everyone the best of luck. Feel free to ask questions.

QFMFT... after i first responded to this thread the OP sent me a pm saying this thread was just an attack on steve because he charged [what the OP thought to be - i disagree completely] a hefty price for his coaching. the fact of the matter is, poker coaches own and steve7stud owns... and the OP doesn't.gg marchione, better luck next time.

I spent a few hundred bucks on a "poker coach" about a year ago. He watched me play an online tournament, and coached over the phone. Being a long distance call, during business hours, and me with no plan, the phone bill was astronomical. As for the quality of coaching, I would never use him again. He would tell me stories of when he did this and that, and had really very little useful information. I found "Harrington on Hold'em" volumes 1,2 &3 to be money far better spent, and much more profitable. I would agree that having someone coach you as you play is a very good idea, my friends and I mentor each other, to get different perspectives, regularly. Doing a hand analysis is also a good practice. Playing is one thing, but you must analyze what you are doing afterwards to become a better player.
