That took about 5 minutes.Did you buy the brogram? Start with the tutorials. I wouldn't know what book to buy I learned about 10 years ago.Go to the library and check a few out.

Nothing better than experience. Scott Kelby's books are great:http://www.google.com/search?client=safari...-8&oe=UTF-8I thought that, when you buy Photoshop, you get a book too.I used Photoshop to modify some images from the FCP site, and a freeware application, to make the file in my signature below.

Check out goodtutorials.com also. They show you how to do alot of stuff and once you learn how the tools work you can start to come up with your own stuff. Experiment alot.

I use it everyday for work.. I suggest you try some online tutorials to get you started & consider a night course if you are serious.I had a couple years of Photoshop & Illustrator in College. It's honestly experience with it that gets you better and it's more about your creative skills then the program you are using. Once you know what you want then figure out how to do it. To be honest most projects can be done in a range of programs (Photoshop of course is the most flexible and that's why its most used). The downside with photoshop is its big price tag. There's an OpenSource (free) program called GimpShop. It's a photoshop alternative that is packed with features if you are scared of Photoshop. It's only a 8MB download and is the link that says "GIMPshop 2.2.4 for Windows" if you are interested.Cheers

K, i'm here for you. although illustrator is a vector based program, and photoshop is pixels. To compare the two in simplest terms, illustrator is great for printing, graphic work like logo's package design, etc..photoshop, when worked at a high enough dpi is great for real photo's and rendering. wether it be a image u drew or a picture etc.what i like to do is sketch images, then trace over them with illustrator, then use those lines in photoshop and render.

so you want it to be believable, takes some practice, but eventually you'll find the best way to go about it, is to just find images that closely resemble your body type, dont try to fit your entire head in, best way:paste your head, size it up, rotate etc.. then feather erase at a low % around yoru hair etc. until your Face starts to blend in with the other pic.Forget about trying to get your hair in there, your images will be more believable if its just your face blended into the other persons head. Then you adjust the hue and "selective color" aspects and have the skin tones match up.shrink the pic slightly so that its a nice viewable size. and vuala

Good instructions. I'm not sure that a rookie can follow these. Also, just looking to help: it's spelled "voila" (although it's pronounced like you spelled it). Up in the North country, where you live and French is widely spoken, many would notice a misspelling like this.
