mrdannyg 274
didn't play at all last month, except a couple tiny sessions and some crapping around playing micros.since it looks like i'll be working a job with no salary starting in january, and i am doing almost nothing this month, i really need to make some money to last me for a while.goals:do a bunch of cryptos, including (but not limited to):Interpoker, Poker Plex, William Hill. Maybe Sun Poker and others.Figure out the next best site(s) to play, in order of profit/hour quality, from:AP, WSEX, FT, Stars.Play a lot of hands from the top 2 on those lists.I'll be wasting a lot of time at the casino, but I'd like to make a few thousand. Abbaddabba 0
AP is king for anything below 10/20. You know it.There are some new guys who play a lot who absolutely reek at the 10/20 and 15/30 too.

Zach6668 513
Anyone willing to tell me what the NL games at like at AP? Specifically the small stakes ones like .5/1 and 1/2.Haven't tried the NL games yet, as a matter of fact I haven't played there yet, but right now, pretty much primetime hours, there are:2 full ring $200 NL tables (8 handed and 3 handed)10 SH $200 NL tables6 full ring $100 NL tables24 SH $100 NL tablesA quick look at the avg pot and players per flop show nothing extraordinary, but not super tight either. The avg pots look a bit low though.

yourboygsarida 0
lol never done this before but enjoy reading strat so here goes1) not play after hanging out with the gf super late. anything after 2amish tends to be bad news2) continue to play well in the .10 nl cash on absolute and stay away from the sngs for a bit (except cheapie plo8 and sng challenge).3) rebuild stars roll from 16 after i pull from it. really frustrated with that site so trying something new4) do a sng challenge aka play lowest one .60 cent and win buy in for next one, repeat, repeat repeat and hopefully get to the 20 one by the end of the month

CobaltBlue 662
After getting off to a blazing start at 20/40 SHLHE in December, variance has come back to bite me a bit. Still up $1.5k already...but I was up over $4k within the first week. Most of the "disaster" was a result of taking a shot at 30/60 and getting outdrawn (bdfd's, two-outers, three-outers, etc) in some ginormous pots. Oh, and I've gotten oversetted twice. When I started taking shots at 20/40 at the end of November, the sessions kept being shortish and big wins. Now, I feel like the last half dozen I've played, I've gotten into some stupid 40-90BB holes before climbing back out. I suppose that's the nature of the game...I just don't know why I ran so hot and then struggled so much lately. Probably a result of dropping my "cherry-picking", being stubborn, and playing bad hours.Maybe I should take a break and go back to 2/3 SHNLHE for a while.
mikeysong 0
I got bit in the butt too by SH LHE.Went on a nice 200b+ tear in November:Dbut then this month........grrrrrrrrrr
iggymcfly 0
SHLHE's the devil. It's pretty easy to lose 200 BB playing almost perfectly. You're really at the mercy of the cards more than any other game (except maybe TD I hear). I will say though, that if any LHE game on the internet is easily beatable, it's got to be the 30/60 game on Bodog. It's high enough stakes that the rake won't hurt you much and the games are ridiculously soft. It seems like every night I look, there's a 7 or 8-handed game with 40%+ to the flop and an average pot over $500. After losing some money live last night, I did play for a little bit again and got out with a small win.I'm mainly posting about it just to recommend the game to other players though. If you've got a good BR, and you're trying to play LHE seriously, that's the game for you. Of course, if you're multi-tabling, you'll have to use lower stakes or other sites, but it really is a surprisingly good game. I think all the nits are scared off because they can't use PT or something.
bdc30 0
Well, after 8 days of the month, I've played exactly 0 tournaments towards my goal of 20 or so...just haven't had the time to put in to trying to play them properly. I have, however, managed to donk up some SHLHE for about -300, so that dug myself a little hole that I didn't plan to be in....I'm sticking to 100max NL from now on, til I can get some time set aside for some tourneys... TheCinciKid 0
New Rule. No more NL cash games, Live or Online. Just played NL live tonight. Lost about $200, then lost another $200 playing and staking my buddy in BJ. We got totally ****ed on that. Dealer had a 3 or 2 pretty much ever hand and never busted. Blah. Anyway, back to the limit grind where I'm capable of winning.
iggymcfly 0
Whew! Playing mid-to-high limits with no bankroll is a rollercoaster. After losing $500 playing poker Thursday, and another $500 on a football game Friday, I was down to $3000. I somehow ended up in the 20/40 game in Bodog tonight, and lost $2000 before taking my last $1000 to 30/60. At my lowest point, I had $270 in my stack after the flop, and then called $60 to chase my gutshot in a fairly big pot on the turn knocking me down to $210. Well, I hit it to make the nuts and got 4 bets in (OK 3.5) on the river getting me back in decent shape. From there, I got back over $3,000 for a while and ended up quitting at $2,660. I think I need to give myself some time off right now. I'm finding the 1/2 PLO games just interminably boring and end up either playing mediocre poker or moving up to games that seriously threaten my fragile little bankroll.Limit games are more fun, but I can't really handle the variance right now. I think it's the variance that makes them fun though so it's kind of a catch-22. I think I just need to "starve" myself of poker for a while until I can play whatever game I can afford happily. iggymcfly 0
Nah, saying I have a "gambling problem" implies that if it wasn't for gambling, I wouldn't have a problem. The "problem" is that I have no steady stream of income.Since the best solution I've found to the income problem over the last several months has been poker, that's what I'm going with, but I tend to tilt easily when my money's short, so it makes it tough. Also, the fact that I'm down almost $25K the last month using pretty decent BR management makes it hard for me to be as careful or invested with the last $3000.

I am not quite as much of a baller as you but I use to make a few extra K a month grinding out NL bonuses. Now I am working overtime at my job to build up the roll and it sucks how much I have to work vs how much I get in a take home paycheck. TAXES SUCK ASSS!!!!In order to be a good player you have to have no respect for money..... Check
