WowThats 0
Last night while playing in a live 220 person $225 tournament I build my stack thorough solid aggressive play, I'm never the chip leader but have enough chips to make a dent into the leader.Final table I go from 5th to 2nd in chips knocking off a player here and there, now its heads up. For the next 15 hands I see one face card "J", what I do see is 2/3, 3,8, 2/4, 9/3, 9/4 on the 15th hand I get K/3 wow a face card, the flop comes 6-7-8, turn 9... the next 10 hands are same no face cards. By now I am totally frustrated, did I forget to mention my opponent has hit every hand.I still have an sizable stack and the frustration is growing, I get 9/4os the flop comes 6-6-5 my opponent bets out, I think for a while... and say F*** it I know you have a 5 I don't have S*** "I'm all in, I want this thing over as quickly as possible"I was a humble loser the winner shook my hand and said good game... alanstats 0
Well played. You made one strategic error. You should have open-shoved the K3 when you had the chance.
sandwedge 30
or better yet... you are shortstacked, cold decked, and in the big blind. You wake up with AK, and the donk on the button raises you. You think, I know you are full of **** with Ace rag, but you'll win this anyway. So you shove, he calls with his Ace rag... and you just start getting up from your seat because you know whats about to happen.
offset 0
I used to do that allllll the time. I still do say F it and tilt away my chips on occassion but not as much anymore. I feel for you. Heads up can be really frustrating if you're not hitting.
Flushgarden 0
Yeah I did the other night. I was in a $12 double shootout satellite to the sunday million. Heads up at the first table. The blinds were still really low when we got heads up so there was a whole lot of play left...and we played for a long time. Probably the longest I've ever played heads up. Now I'm no slouch heads up...I win more than I lose. I'm always agressive. The problem is I was absolutely card dead the entire time. I only had one pocket pair (4s) the entire time and I never had an ace with a kicker higher than 7. Several times he limped and then when I raise he would come over the top and push all in...huge overbets of the pot...the blinds arent even close to making us sweat. Of course when I raised I had a hand like the Krablar or J9 suited...because that was the best I was getting. I obv cant call. After so much of this **** and being so card dead for so long, I got KQo. It looked like AA to me. He has about 7/5 lead on me at the time. He limps from the button...I raise 3x the bb...then he does it again, all in for a huge overbet of the pot. I did not need to call...but I was just sick and ****ing tired of folding when he did this ****. So I said **** it and I called...hoping he had a pocket pair and it was a race. He obv had AK and it was gg me.
