TheCinciKid 0
Bet that flop, bet that flop, bet that flop. Always, always bet that flop. If you check flops when you hit top pair people will never give your continuation bets any credit. Seriously, you need to be betting this flop. Bet at least half to 3/4 of the pot on the flop, do the same thing on the turn. I may be being results-oriented a little here since you got raised, but I think the river is a good spot to check/call. You've got a fairly strong hand that you'd like to showdown, but the flush draw just came in and he's probably not raising you at these limits without a hand that has you beat. It's probably either bet/fold or check/call and I prefer to showdown when possible, so I think check/call is probably better.
Zach6668 513
Oh yeah, lol, def bet the flop...it's not close at all, and should never be debated.I'm down with the c/c on the river too, cinci.OP, post NL in the NL forum.
Actuary 3
no reads?I'd probably call the river.Lotta flush draws will bet the flop.you underrepresented the Q.Not betting the flop, if you sometimes dont' bet when you hit, is not horrible. Because when you c/r big here, you may get free cards other times. As an isolated play and at 5c/10c, it makes no sense to check the flop.
trystero 0
I don't like the pf raise. It's just 3x the BB and definitely won't get UTG, and possibly the BB, to fold. Also you'll be OOP with a speculative hand. Then you actually do hit your hand and you don't lead with it, but others have already criticized that. There's merit in taking this down pf but it needs a bigger raise to do so.
CoranMoran 0
Don't check the flop after raising preflop.Beginner's move.It shouldn't be done. bleh... you don't beat much. You beat enough.I have to call.I don't like the pf raise. It's just 3x the BB and definitely won't get UTG, and possibly the BB, to fold. Also you'll be OOP with a speculative hand. There's merit in taking this down pf but it needs a bigger raise to do so.I view the raise as one for value- not one to win the petty blinds.Against only a limper, we often have the best starting hand. And I would like to start building a pot prefllop with our good hand so that there is something worth winning if we connect.Note: this is another reason why checking the flop after we do successfully hit our hand is the poor play.--CM
