I'm absolutely certain you do not.........In Omaha you must use 2 of your hole cards and 3 cards from the board. The second kid cannot make a 5 card straight using both the 3 and 8 from his hand.

will all the clowns who keep laughin please enlighten me..............cuz i seem to have everybody rolling right now
Use the 2 cards from your hand, the 3 and the 8.........OK?Pick 3 cards from the board, any 3 and only 3............OK?can you make a straight?

you have to use 3 from the board and 2 from your hand. so player 1 has to use the 3 and 8. there is no 3 on the board that combined with a 3 and 8 can make a straight. 3-4-5-6-8? 3-5-6-7-8? neither one works. player 2 uses the 3 and 7 from his hand, plus the 4-5-6 on the board to make 3-4-5-6-7, a 7 high straight. its easy to get confused with these kind of hands in omaha.

Wow Ghostface you really don't understand. You have to use 2 cards from your hand, in this case, one being 3-8, the other being 3-7.Now, you can only use 3 cards from the board.4-5-6-7 is 4 cards, not 3.Pick 3 cards there, then add your two hole cards. 3-8 cannot make a straight. You would be using 6 cards.3-7 can.

 I'm speechless, this has to be a wind up. But also the reason that Omaha is an online cash cow ready for milking. There are thousands of players who think you only need to use one card. The amount of times some guy thinks he's been robbed because he had the nut flush while only holding the Ace is unbelievable. If only there was some vast fountain of information they could go to to get all the relevant rules and such. Somewhere only a mouse click away from the comfort of their own room, wait a minute..................

Is this guy for real? I have never actually played omaha and this is pretty easy to see. Seriously man, specifically show us what the best hand player 2 has using BOTH his hole cards. People have already done it but I don't think you actually read their posts. Here's another question for you to ponder. Texas hold'em.Player 1:AKoPlayer 2:A5oFlop: A59r Turn: 8 River: 9Guess who wins?

this is a joke right?omaha definitions 101 (specifically for ghost killa )omaha is a hold em based game with two key exceptions you have 4 hole cards and can only use 2 of them.you must use 2 of your hole cards and 3 of the board cards.as in hold-em, stud, pineapple, 5 card draw, and any other game that is considered poker the best five card hand wins.8-3 in omaha or omaha hi-lo is only 8 high, it was 8 high when he was dealt his cards, it was 8 high on the flop it was 8 high on the turn it was 8 high on the river. My friend he ended that hand with what he started with 8 fu#king high.

ive only played omaha in dealers choice games wit some of my buddys and as i understand it ..............similar rules apply for omaha as they would with texas holdem.................xcept 4 hole cards and 5 community cards (flop, turn, and river)..........u can only use two in your hand ...........so my thought on this post was:the board read X-4-5-6-7and player 1 was holding x-x-3-8i figure that for the eight high straight however i guess i am wrong with all this unconstructive criticismAnd for the jerkoffs who keep challenging me to an omaha game for $100..................How bout i just come to your house and rob you instead and we will call it a day

ghost, not only CAN you use 2 from your hand, but also you MUST use 2 from your hand and three from the board. so player 1 MUST use both the 3 and the 8, and those two cards cant make a straight when combined with any of the three cards on the board.

Not to be a stickler, but player one did have a hand better than 8 high. His hand had an 8, and a 3, so worst case his other card was a 2, and ihis last wasn't a 3-8, or he'd have a pair, so he must have at least a 10 high. I know, I know, nothing to do with the question at hand. :-) But seriously Fabiano, how do you guys play a game for money where you don't even know the rules? And Ghostface? I can't see why you can't wrap your mind around this one. Pretty straight forward.**edit** Nevermind Ghost, I see you got it. :D Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Uma.

Ghostface, even though the board reads 4-5-6-7, you can not just use the 8 in your hand to make an eight high straight. You HAVE to use BOTH of your hole cards, and only three from the board. You CAN NOT use four cards from the board and only one of your hole cards to make a hand.
