mark33f 0
The thing I dont understand is how everyone who seems to be playing in the "Big Game" is winning. This logically doesn't make senes. All I hear is "so and so plays and wins at the highest levels". Ok, so people have said that "whales" and other big shot millionaires come and play and lose big. Well, if this is true, than what makes the big game so special? If all it is pros beating rich amateurs...? Anyone of the top 100 pros could beat out rich amateurs? I don't want to knock on Daniel or anyone else that plays in the game, but if people like Phil Ivey are said to be winning 10 or 15 million or whatever yearly than who is losing all this money?? Really sorry to ask the question that has probably been asked a million times, but I just dont buy the answers everyone is giving.
allinbluff35 0
here are daniels results for the year. . .http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...opic.php?t=7981
yeffy 0
Jennifer Harman's response when asked this question is something like, 'not all of the "top players" are equal in skill levels.'This leads me to believe that not everyone is winning in that game. Also think of the stakes....you dont have to win much. A little edge goes a long way.Sure they get big boosts from people taking shots at the game but they do play hard against each other as well. Hmmmm 0
I saw an interview with Doyle Brunson and he said this was going to be his first losing year. I don't know if he was talking about tournaments or the cash games, maybe both.Steve

So, I think he might have come out on top, but who knows??
mark33f 0
I just hate how the "high limit player" gives people so much credit and prestige when they could just be losing, because dont some people have too be?
elkang 0
I don't find it hard to believe. The few times I saw the (or a) big game I see LOTS of players who I don't know. And if Daniel or someone was in the big game, it's not really noteworthy to note unless a lot of other high calibur players are there or something really interesting happens... in any case, if players are exagerrating their results that is pretty sad, and I'm sure the other players at the big game know the truth -- so why would they lie in public - furthering their loser-dom? elkang 0
also, isn't it clear that people play above their level because they have the money to do so? This is how this whole system works that supports us profitable players. You can throw that skepticism at ANY of us who claim to be winning at the level we are at. I play low limit and I have made relative to the stakes huge amounts of money due to play time and players who are playing above their level (or who should be playing for play money!).anyway... it just seems so improbable that one could get away with lying about results. the poker world (like everything else) is like high school -- if you're a big loser at the tables it gets known and the pecking order is pretty clear.
