AKProdigy 0
New table, no reads. Three things.1) Is it okay to limp PF? Usually I would throw in a standard raise, but I switched up for this particular hand. No reason other then it was a new table with a lot of stacks that could hurt me. Average stack at this point was around 5.5k. 2) Leadout/Reraise Turn? Was scared of two pair/maybe A10 with the bet, occured to me that it was a possible steal. 3) Call river?Looking back, I played the hand way too passively, but would you still call the river bet?Poker StarsNo Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t100/t2008 playersConverterStack sizes:UTG: t3110UTG+1: t8193MP1: t7992MP2: t5530CO: t170Button: t10802SB: t6790Hero: t9645Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is BB with Kc AcUTG calls t200 (pot was t300), UTG+1 folds, MP1 raises to t400, 4 folds, Hero calls t200 (pot was t900), UTG calls t200 (pot was t1100).Flop: Qc Js 4c (t1300, 3 players)Hero checks, UTG bets t600, MP1 calls t600 (pot was t1900), Hero calls t600 (pot was t2500).Turn: Kh (t3100, 3 players)Hero checks, UTG checks, MP1 bets t1000, Hero calls t1000 (pot was t4100), UTG folds.River: 6h (t5100, 2 players)Hero checks, MP1 bets t2200, Hero ? Balloon guy 158
I think the limp pre-flop is the problem, this is what caused you to be in this position. Although many hands that beat you on river would have called a raise, but at least the odd QJ or KJ should fold to your raise.flop I'm fine with.turn I would have bumped him, this is your only chance to get information and still get away from hand. AQ should fold to a raise, min raises to me are either suited connectors, or medium pairs, or AJ, A10.now that you are at the river, I think if you call you have to call/show, if you lose your table image will be..less than respected. If you win, then they will be confused. Either way you can profit later from a unrespectable table image.Fold would be my choice though, he represents too much strength all the way through, and your TPTK is probably beat. And next time you hit a big hand with aflush draw, you can check call your way to a bigger payoff.btw, mix up your game AFTER you feel the table has you pegged as a LAG or TAG. Yahkin 0
I make bad reads a lot, but I'm calling here.OP has played this hand like he's on a draw, and the river has come up blank. MP1 sees the missed draw and feels his pair of Q's are now good. (Or more likely, he was on a draw as well and wants to push you out now that he's missed.)I guess my only pause is so many broadway cards showing. He could easily have 2pr...which would fit his min raise PF. If he did though, why doesn't he push the turn to shutout the draw?Either way, you need to raise PF and lead out the flop to get info.
