Know Your Fcp Mtt Greats.

Recommended Posts

First let me state that EVERYONE can always improve. Personally, I beat myself up daily and go over key hands in tourneys/cash games and I have so much to learn and improve upon its insane. The day you become complacent with your skill/results is the day your poker game diminishes. The aforementioned "greats" of FCP mtt play have one thing in common: They play alot. All/most are professionals or semi-professionals and put in alot of hours at the tables. I'm just going to list 4 players that I have played with often. There are a ton of great players on FCP, but to be honest I don't know enough about most of their games to comment. Time for the slurpfest:PrtyPsux: J.C. and I talk about strategy ALOT so I know his game very well. In fact, the most time I've personally spent talking strat to one individual is with him. As we all know he plays a LAG game, and is one of maybe 5-10 people who can successfully do this in the big-buy in online mtts. Given the shallow structure of most of these tourneys, it is very very difficult to play a lag game and J.C. is one of the best. His game is obviously suited to playing a ton of flops, and deep in most online tourneys this isnt really possible. I think his greatest edge would come in 10k live deep stacked events, and if I had the roll I would undoubtedly stake him in these. Another thing is that he works hard at the game. He is constantly thinking and analyzing his game, which is necessary to succeed at the higher limits. IMO, he will be a "known" top live mtt player in the near future.Chucksty: What can I say? I aspire to be like him. He crushes high-limit cash games and dominates high buy-in tourneys. Definitely the cream of the crop when it comes to overall online players. I don't know a ton about his game but from playing with him he has near-perfect tourney strategy. He changes gears flawlessly which is pretty much the most crucial aspect of NLHE mtts.Looshle: Fearless. Any kid that can stick in his entire stack at a WSOP final table with 7 high is showing that he is playing for one thing...1st place. Another great tournament player who doesn't play a ton online, but if he did he would have huge results.PMJackson21: Well, first of all Bax thinks hes good so that is good enough for me. :club: Perfect TAG player. Doesn't get out of line and rarely if ever gets his $ in bad. Everybody can learn something from Pat's patience, he doesnt force the issue and remains steady. Very very good/consistent player.Everybody could learn alot from all 4 of these players games. As for the other players such as BKice, Rdog, etc.etc.etc.etc. I've only played at a table with BKice maybe twice and it was the early stages so obv we were just playing tight. His results speak for themselves though, and he unquestionably has a ton of talent. Same goes for Rdog, whenever we play together its in the early stages so we are both just playing solid TAG for the most part. I dont have that much experience playing with alot of these FCPers so I really cant comment on most. Obviously we have a ton of great players on FCP, but I don't want to say something dumb about someones game if I really have no clue.

I never really pay much attention to the thousands of rail threads. Half of them seem to be "look, i'm at the final table of a SNG"I guess I just don't post here enough to care. There are a few people I'd watch because I like to see them succeed (dna4ever, for one) . I know I've seen a few of you guys out there, and usually try to just stay outta the way.Maybe I'll post my own rail thread next time I make it fairly deep, and see what happens eh?/ramble

BalloonGuy: By sitting out the first hand of the tournament, and never playing a hand, he can beat at LEAST 60-70% of the field, EVERY time!

like he said he is trying to learn what he can do to help his tournament game out a bit more, not run the tables @ a casino... i think this was a good thread actually

so why not post a "tourney strat ideas" in the tourney strat thread?how is knowing that Hoosier plays 10 MTT's a day with solid skill and the ability to go deep more often then not, how will that help anyone looking to improve?

don't think many players follow strat... and also there have been some good things listed about the better players, and what they do well... i really think this is a harmless thread, and have seen wayyyyyy worse

Yah, kinda agree, we all know Bkice, PrtyPSux, PMjackson, Chucksty, Looshle, Hoosier, are the cream of the crop here with respect to Mtt's but this thread is better than 90 percent of the threads started here in general. Remember corp3 aka jmoney? those stupid videos by UFO? Emokid? Redpill? Now, those threads were ghey.

LMAO, one of the few threads of any worth in the last few days and Royal Tour thinks its ghey. Knowing the skills that make certain people good could actually help you improve. How many threads here actually contain anything that help you improve?

Fine, I wont go on about our strat section, I will admitt its better than some of the junk. But with all due respect, None of us know enough about these players. And i say THESE, because its obvious that its a select handfull.YOu know what I'd like to see? How about a thread where the guys who have FT'ed a MTT in the last 3 months tell us how they did it. How bout they explain in detail what makes them think they are good enough to play MTT's day in day out.A thread where people things about 4 guys winning because they have skill is a bit silly. and half the players i know, myself included, dont start rail threads, and we dont have other players starting them for us either. And many of these good players wont name theirself out of fear of looking like a conceited fool

lol. That's still a lot but of course you are a pro and I'm not. Stupid job of mine.
Yea for sure 4 is alot for a non-pro. But just letting him know I dont play 10 per day.
This is a childish reply man.
uh how so?Just telling you I play 4 tourneys a day..not the 10 you previously mentioned.

Royal,it's basically a thread to identify styles/strengths in order to assist all the railers like myself to know what to look for and perhaps help to start developing our own winning stylesIf I hear PPSux is awesome post flop lag 25 times, I might be inclined to really watch the moves he makes post flop. This is not intended to be a list the best players thread.Nor a super serious strategy guideI want posters who actually know something about the games of others to reply. Many respected posters have contributed.please don't hate.I don't want to pull your pants down in front of everyone.

It was a random number i threw out as an example. Any more than 1 MTT a night and you're already playing more than about 80% of the posters on here i'm sure.It wasnt a crack at you. relax.Actuary, i know what you were trying to do, i just thin you went about it the wrong way and this thread sorta turned out pointless. What you should have started was a thread where people could talk about their games and how they won their last FT'ed MTT etc...I mean, for example if i followed suit in this thread, I'd have to say I think Spademan is an insane MTT player. He hardly posts anymore, and he doesnt give out his names to people to rail him, but his skill in a MTT is unreal. Now what I just said doesnt help anyone. I'd like to see spademan himself come on here and go in detail.do you see where i'm going wit hthis?

ur pathetic and jealous beyond belief of JC, hoos, chuck, Pat, Bkice, and rdog...just because spademan doesn't get talked about on here shouldn't make you mad, he's no longer a part of the community, who the F wants to hear about him... this thread was supposed to be educational to those in need, and just because you don't think it was, doesn't really mean anything. You don't like it, don't read it, simple as that... gg
