shrimp4789 0
with no raise pre-flop, the blinds could have anything. theres so many hands that beat you. sets, 2 pairs, are the most likely. i would prob fold here personally.....thats alot of money to risk with only TPTK
Pot Odds RAC 23
What did UTG+1 do prior to our call?If he folded, we have to call approx $20 to win $40 2:1If he called, we have to call $20 to win $60 3:1We have top pair top kicker.I'd say with two players in the hand we are likely beat by a set or over pair or possibly 2 pair. One of them may still be playing a couple of over cards or flush draw.I could probably lay it down.

Basically I'm calling $12.50 to win $39 better than 3:1.At these limits I've become accustomed to people pushing flush draws in that spot or maybe a Tx....Although, it has seemed people have been turning their 2 pair on me and it's been frustrating. Basically, I was wondering if anybody minds my very slight overbet on the turn?

Basically I'm calling $12.50 to win $39 better than 3:1...Whoops, my math sux!Yeah, I still think we may be beat with only at most 5 outs perhaps worse. Making us a 9:1 dog. But if you put the villan on a flush draw and nothing else and feel confident in that, then the money is good.
Peak01 0
I bet $6 on the turn and fold to his shove.
DonkSlayer 1
Read dependent. You're getting at least 2:1 so if you think the villain would do this with a draw, call. If there's any doubt, probably better to pick another spot.
Acid_Knight 2
Welcome back to poker. TPTK is not invincible. You bet too big on the turn to give yourself the option of folding.
DrawingDeadInDM 0
When playing OOP, check/call the turn and re-evaluate the river; check/fold a bad card, check/call a brick, lead a twopair/trips card. Keep the pot small out of position. You will make more money.

You very likely have the best hand and letting him have a free card to draw out on you is criminal. I agree with keeping pots small but in this case you have to bet it. CobaltBlue 662
I don't really agree at all.At this level with this board, I think we've got to lead again with TPTK. I'd be more inclined to agree with you if we had something like KT/QT/JT. I totally understand where you're coming from in keeping the pot smaller OOP with a mediumish hand, but I think circumstances lead to a bet being better in this spot. That said, we certainly don't need to bet $9 into $8.50. I prefer something along the lines of $5-$6...leaving us a little flexibility. As played, I call. Here's why... equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 68.0016 % 64.82% 04.18% { AsTs }Hand 2: 31.9984 % 28.29% 04.18% { TT, 88, 33-22, AdQd, AdJd, ATs, Ad9d, Ad8d, Ad7d, Ad6d, Ad5d, Ad4d, Ad3d, KdQd, KdJd, KTs, Kd9d, Kd8d, Kd3d, QdJd, QTs, Qd9d, Qd8d, JTs, Jd9d, Jd8d, T8s+, ATo, KTo, QTo, JTo, T8o+ }
disctiger85 0
Stupid pros....watching High Stakes Poker you see them bet the flop and if they get called by someone they think is drawing then they overbet the pot on a non-threatening turn in order to drive the draw out. It is not something I ordinarily do by any means, but when I see a short stack trying to draw I felt like making him either commit all his chips on the turn or fold. A call in that spot for him is completely out of the question. As it happened, he pushed and I found myself in a spot where I felt a fold was impossible based on the way the hand had played to that point. Again, overbetting the turn is not something I practice regularly, but every now and then I just feel like throwing it into my game. Thanks for all the responses guys. More hands sure to come
EurekaKid 0
Why did you bet so much on the turn? If you had raised pre-flop or had some better definition on the hand it was a good bet size, but not knowing where you are at I prefer to keep the pot a little smaller. As played I call though.
