I have a question.I recall somewhere you wrote that in these big games, guys don't carry around that kind of cash, so you guys use $1 chips in place of $1,000 chips or something along those lines? How does it all work?Like, since you guys don't carry that kind of cash around, how do you guys buy-in, and if you guys do use $1 chips, how do you guys cash out?I've been wondering for awhile now..

I think he mentioned that this is only when they're out of town, when they're at the Bellagio they actually use 1-for-1 value chips.

Date Limit Hours ResultMay 1 40-80 1 + 1,400
Since there's an hour in 40-80 here, can we assume Daniel is regularly sitting in many "lesser" limits (compared to what he normally plays) over at the Wynn for an extended period?

Oh I'd say right around 1.5...
so if you lose 3 straight of your heads up challenges, you are in trouble? not very good bankroll management if you ask me unless you are getting backed.
Well, lucky for me I didn't ask you! :-)

my guess is your bankroll is far far deeper than you let on, so even if Barry took 10 outo f 10 from you, you'd still be in pretty good shape.

HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH? YOU COULD DROP DOWN TO A 100-200 GAME AND KNOW YOU'LL NEVER GO BROKE. IF IT'S ABOUT THE GAME AND NOT THE MONEY THEN WHY NOT? EVEN WITH MILLIONS AND MILLIONS IS THE RISK WORTH THE REWARD?

first post so gday to Daniel and all you guys, didnt relaly want to post negative for first post but I really think some of you guys should lighten up alittle.Daniel's been kind enough to post some figures of the games he's played in, why try and prove him wrong saying the bankroll he's telling us is incorrect or his management is poor? you've got to be kidding this bloke is one of the best poker players in the world and the fact that he's kind enough to communicate with us guys in a forum like this is more than alot of professional sports stars would do. Down under it's considered prtty rude to ask a peer how much they earn and Daniels provided this for our information, I think you guys should just give him a break.

Hey Daniel,In this last update, it looks like you had 10 of 13 sessions as winning sessions but then you later state that it is not representative of your play. To be a successful cash game player, what do you think is a realistic winning percentage?

I'm not Daniel.. but I'm pretty certain he'd have his bankroll locked up, chained, dead bolted, two security guards on watch with heavy machine guns, a couple trip wires, 3 cameras and a guard dog.... and yes all at the casino :club:

I find it funny questioning Daniel Negreneau about his BR management. Accept it guys, Daniel Negreneau along with being a great poker player and a top pro, is also a Professional gambler. so if he thinks he can beat someone or beat some game he goes for it. He probabally wouldn't risk his BR on one hand but hes not gonna quibble about not having the required 300 BB to play in a certain level of a game. Hes confident enough to put himself on the line, thats why hes a pro.

agreed with the last post. if you read his early cardplayer articles you'll see he's not afraid of putting a large % his roll at risk. but we're talking about a guy who will probably make a mil this year outside of his poker winnings with all the other stuff he's got going on, so let's not worry too much about danny mogul.

I know that your a pro and all and that you probably have excellent Bankroll management, but have you ever thought about like saving some winnings that you make in a given year and just set them aside for probable future causes, perhaps investing them into some sort of market, or maybe investing in some type of business with your own money? Playing the market is also gambling, perhaps you could conquer that endeavor too. Thanks and continued gl in this years WSOP.-Ethan

Daniel is a smart guy. I am sure he has his future, wife, kids?, in mind when he makes decisions. I bet my entire roll he has investments and other ventures. He is too intelligent to not have thought that out.EDIT: kids? means maybe down the road. I am aware he doesn't have any.

If Daniel's BR would be "just a mere" $1.6M than he would have a 200x BB BR. If he would lose his assumed BR than he would still have his real estate (I assume he has bought his own home), his poker related "sponsor" income, probably some other investments, and enough people around who would like to stake him. Don't worry about Daniel's BR, and how high or "low" it would be. I'm sure he'll manage just fine whatever happens.

I'd like to see some hands that Daniel considers debatable and/or interesting from the big game, and his reasoning behind those. The game is so much different at that limit, I'd love to just see the Negreanu thought process at some impasses.

Daniel,Please update your cash game stats from May. Just helpful to deal with people who make comments on your "bad year".Or I should have realized... you're not playing any cash games outside of the Challenges? I guess we can't count the small buy in home games.
