It was late August, 2006, and I went out to play a tournament at Caesar's Palace with PearlJammer (my b/f). These tournaments get such huge turnouts during the WSOP. It was a $120 + 100 rebuy that pulled 204 players...about 12k for 1st place. To make a long story short.... I was in survival mode just after making hte money and found myself getting blinded away, being on an over-aggro table and I just could not find any spots to get my money in... so we go on break and I know that Im gonna have to take my BB when we returned from break no matter what.So we get back frombreak and get back toour tables, where I make this announcement:"FYI guys, I'm goin' all in blind on my BB...not even gonna look at the cards...just going all in"So the dealers gives us our cards....it folds to the Button, who raises it 3x standard. Blinds were about 1500/3000 500 ante and I've got 7500 total even after posting BB. SB who was fairly short as well decides to re-raise all in. A man on my table looks at me and says, "Are you sure u wanna go all in now considering this action before u?"So I was like, "yup, and im still not looking at my cards either." Then proceed to throw my chips in the middle. The Button, getting such a good price, makes the call, so we finally turn over our cards.Button shows KQoSB shows A7sAnd I show K3o - not a true Krablar, but hell, that's close enough right? lolThe flop comes A 7 3 - rainbow.Turn QRiver.... 3!!!!!I triple up with the krablar.... this was when we were down to 17 players, just barely in the money. I go on to hit the final table several hands later...The table was really ancey on cutting deals etc. I refused all proposed deals cuz none were good for me until we got down to 4 people...I had over 65% of the chips in play, in the chiplead, at that time... and got away with 10k, while the remaining 3 players split the rest... mind u, without a deal, 1st place paid out 12k.ever since then.. i've loved the krablar cuz it's saved my *** numerous times, this one being the biggest of them all... lol

Oh, so that's the secret of late tourney success. I've been hitting a wall late in MTTs getting very deep regularly, just not breaking through for the big score/final table. I need one of those desperation suckouts, and I'm not picky either, it doesn't have to be the vaunted Krablar.Excellent story. It was worth the build up :club:

Whenever I have one pair on a board of K3x, I think 'Oh shit, I'm about to get pinched.'

I never had much faith in the krablar until last night in a live game. I was the shortstack and it folded to me OTB. With K3d I'm obv pushing and I get called by both blinds. Great. Flop comes AK5 and one player leads out, getting the other to fold and showing AK for top two. You know the krablar can hit the runner-runner flush though to triple me up. Thank you FCP.

I had little faith in the Krablar, and thought it was more of an urban legend until I was playing online today and got King/3 on the button. I raised 3x the BB and the small and big blind both called. The flop? King-3-3. I now trust the Krablar.

The Krablar is not suited. You were playing in a parallel universe.

The Krablar is NOT about feeling... it's about faith.. and it's also about timing... Indiscriminate Krablar play, reguardless of position, table image and game situation is just dumping money on a terrible, terrible hand. Please save your stories of when you could have played krablar, and won or lost or what ever.... Here's the thing about Krablar that is most important.... It is a DISASTER not to show Krablar... that is why generally you want a short handed pot, so you can drive the betting the whole way... if you do, and Krablar is unimproved, one of two good things will happen... One, you'll win the pot with your aggressive betting, then get to show the Krablar, and do the dance, which insures that people remember the Krablar. The second thing that can happen, is you are called all the way to the River, you turn your hand over, hold your hands up to the side, and say sheepishly " Pinch Pinch?" which is also bizarre, and will make your advertising with a crazy hand all the more memerable... What you don't want to do is call down with the Krablar, or get caught in some sandwich, where the Krab is the meat in this Po'boy.... What will happen is you will call down, you will lose, 'cause Krablar sucks, and no one will know you are playing the Krablar as you muck. DISASTER... nothing is worse then putting in lots of money with a marginal hand, and having no one know you are playing it... it's MUCH better to raise on the end if you've been calling, and have them call your bluff.. you spend one large bet, but then people think you are extra double crazy, which isn't bad.. it's better than spending 3+ big bets on a marginal hand that no one sees... Don't be afriad to let people think you are crazy, even if the bet has low expected return, it's implied return on later hands is worth it's wieght in KRab meat
I have yet to play my first Krablar, so I thought I would do some research, and am damn glad I did.So bump.
curmudgeonAn ill-tempered person full of resentment and stubborn notions
jesus, that's.......oh, nevermind
