Pot Odds RAC 23
Sitting at a table the other day, another player told me of an incident that happened the previous night. New player sits @ the table and gives chip runner $200. Chip runner returns with $100 in chips. Guy disputes the amount - with confirmation from other players who heard him request $200, but chip runner says he only received $100 in cash. Management reviews security tapes and takes over 3 hours to return $100 to guy.My question is: If the tapes indeed confirmed the guy's point of view, where'd the other $100 go? Either it was an honest mistake - which would require the cage AND the chip runner to make a mistake. Or the chip runner pocketed the $
Socrates 0
Here's a better one. Two guys sit at a table, both buy in for $200. Chip runner comes back and gives one guy $300, the other $100 and says its correct. Guy with the extra hundred finally steps up and says he only gave him $200 after he watched them argue for a while and the shorted player requests to see the tape.
grocery_mony 8
you got to be careful with casino staff handling your cash. my mother won 2500 on a slot machine at the fremont hotel. as a canadian she was subject to the 30% withholding tax. the slot attendant cameback and hand paid her 1650. while i guess with the excitement of the moment or her poor math skills she did not pick up on the $100 short. when she realized the mistake or outright theft she went to the cashiers cage to report the incident and was told there was nothing they could do. jjburdick 0
Easy solution to this whole problem... Buy your chips from the dealer. If the dealer doesnt have egnough chips to buy you up then have the dealer count your money and have the dealer call the runner. Then you have a casino employee that know the amount along with the tape of the table and all of the players as well. Problem Solved!

Problem Solved!I am sorry, but your suggestion sort of falls into the category of saying: "If you don't want the valet parker to steal your car, then park it yourself."Chip runners are a convenience that you sort of get used to using to speed up play. RuntCake 0
I was at a 3-500 game at the bike and the chip runner disappeared with the drunken table fishes 500 and it started all kinds of **** and took an hour plus to ge thim back in the game. not only did it cause tension, but it kept our favorite money dumper in the clear with cash in his pockets. Moral of the story: Tip your chip runner and get witnesses on your amount.
DB10-2 0
also, i always place the buy-in money on the table in front of me, fanned out like you see blackjack dealers do when they sell people chips in the pit. that way if there's a problem the amount i bought is clearly visible. psujohn 0
When you hand the chiprunner money don't they immediately tell the dealer and the dealer repeats it? This is the process they used at Venetian. The deatler needs to know how much you have behind if you're going to play before your chips arrive.
