cheesiest poker lines..

Recommended Posts

The one i see people say/write on-line is "OOPS" when they win a pot. I have also heard people say " I don' t have a pair on the board" but when they flip over the cards they have a flush. Anyone heards use lines like these?

or "good hand" when people fold and have no idea what I have.
I like this one. I'm always like "how do you know?"I understand saying "good bet" but "nh" cracks me up.

I thought we were playing blackjack
"nut no pair""i was ahead the whole way" - said to me when the guy spiked a 3 outer on the river."I always play A4, if you flop trip 4s you have a good kicker!" - this guy went broke.

When people make horrible calls just out of pure inexperience and then make a winning hand and they say "I had a feeling." It's not really cheesy but I HATE THAT!

this isnt 'cheesy', but could be the 'dumbest' thing I've heard at a poker table. Flop comes down 555 and the turn brought the fourth 5. The guy to my left (as serious as could be) said "man I wish I had the other 5"

I remember playing PL omaha with a guy and we were heads-up on the river. I had a straight or something, but the river just brought a 9, making the board Q-9-K-9-9. I checked to him, and he checked behind me. He then proceeded to show me the case 9 for the stone nuts. He also had two K's in his hand, meaning that he had flopped top set as well (and therefore he could not have possibly forgot about his 9 and thought he had a weak hand). Normally, I don't question why bad players do what they do, but my curiosity got the best of me this time.I asked, "Uh...why didn't you bet on the end there?""I do a lot of drugs."I dunno if that qualifies as a cheesy line, but I snorted and the soda I was sipping exploded out of my nose. That's got to count for something.

I've experienced this as well only when it happens to me the guy who won always feels like a badass. When I tell him it wasn't a good play and it was just luck he says "I won didn't I." I think it is just the poker snob in me but that drives me crazy.

I hate when someone says "I won didnt I?" which is used when somene calls my pre flop raise wit hthere 2, 7 off... and the flop comes 7,7,2... of course it results in me saying "you called a raise with that?"

two weeks ago, i was in a tournament, nine players, I'm in the big blind. It's very early, so everyone's pretty much even. The player to my left doubles the big blind and every single player calls around to me. I look at KK and decide, its early, there are already a lot of chips on the table...I'm taking em, and maybe doubling up, so I go all in. The guy to my left (the original raiser) calls, everyone else folds. I flip my KK hoping to see anything but AA....he flips over 3-5 :D . Sure enough, the flop comes A-2-4 giving him a straight (a 6 hit the river to give him a higher straight) and I lose the hand (i had him covered so still had a little life). While he was scooping up all the chips, someone asked him: "What the hell were you doing first of all, raising with that hand, and then going all in?"His response was: "All cards are even before the flop."He then proceeded to tell us that he would always see the flop with any two cards, because "you never know what's going to hit the flop." Despite his HUGE early chip lead, he didn't finish top 3.

LOL.. i had a guy tell me (2 days ago) that its 50/50 pre flop in heads up.,,thats why he keeps pushing all in... So i stopped him for a minute and said., If i have AA, and you have 7,10,. I'm about a 80% favourite to win. He then clued in, and realised it wasnt 50/50 coin flip..

The worse play is explaining to the fish why the are playing badly. I hate it when I'm playing and then somebody tries to educate a bad player. Usually, they tighten up, sometimes they run away.I know, getting outdrawn sucks, but you'll never get your money back from them if you scare them off.-------------Please don't tap on the aquarium.

Sorry...why exactly would you want to tell him something like that?

i have to disagree that saying nh (instead of nice bet) is silly if cards aren't shown ... it acctually really annoys me when someone says "nice bet"when i say nh, i am referring to the entire hand, ie: how it was played, not necessarily what your cards are.To me, when someone says "nice bet", it seems like another way to say "i can't afford to call and take a chance, but i *know* you're bluffing" ... the phrase also implies that i want you to fold, which is very often not true (i have never heard anyone say "nice bet" after calling)
