Underground Illegally Runned Games

Recommended Posts

Ok I was just wondering how many people here at the forums play at underground illegally runned games. Im not really asking to give specifics or anything but I am almost 19 years old and I've been playing at this place in Houston for months now and I really enjoy it. As a matter of fact I gave up on online poker and all of my experience comes from this place.Just wondering how many people are in the same situation as me.

People who play in illegal games, or people who think 'runned' is a word? Probably a lot of people here on the former, and probably a lot of kindergarteners on the latter.

Calm down guys its like the first improper English statement I've made in months and you guys are jumping all over it. :club:
Yeah but come on, runned is pretty funny. Even people who don't say anything dumb get flamed, so when you make up a word in the title you're gonna get made fun of. Don't take it personally, I was just kidding around.

I play in about four different illegally runned games in Austin.

I play in a small underground (actually is underground) casino outside of Philly. Great atmosphere, loads of players loose as ****, and the guy running it makes a fortune.Biggest upside: LIVE PLAY! Lots of fish.Biggest downside: Tipping dealer and large rake.

I do, which club do you play at in Houston?
Well this place I play at really isnt a "club" the guy that runs the place owns this condo type place out in Houston and he bought tables, hired dealers, takes rake, has cameras outside, caged the place in, etc.I was really nervous going in there for the first time but its really a great atmosphere and everyone there is really nice as long as you dont cheat. Im sure if you were to cheat you'd find yourself dead. They hold freerolls every Friday where the winner recieves $400.Cash games are 1/3 and 2/5 NL HoldemAnd theres a bad beat jackpot as well that pays out a huge ammount of money.

I play in 4 different places in Dallas so this makes it illegal. You can't play Texas hold 'em in Texas... Since there are no basements in Dallas, they''re all above ground including "The Penthouse" :D This place is the shiz, plush leather chairs, rails you could use as a pillow, the hottest waitresses, a 15th floor balkony big enough for a party and always good food. I usually play the $120 tourneys there and stay away from the 5/10 NL game....Next week I'll go to OK to play some legal poker. :club:

How did you guys initially find out about these games? I know games are run near where I live, but I just can't get info on them. I'll eventually need a "sponsor" to invite me.

I've played in several underground rooms on Long Island in high school, but recently almost all of them have been shut down, or forced to relocate further away, in less-then-stellar locations, so I've decided to stay away from them.

how do you guys end up finding these games?
Just talk about cards to people you meet. Sooner or later someone will say "I know where a game is."
