This will be a peaceful, yet demonstrative protest given by frustrated American citizens who would like to let our future leaders know that we want our freedom back in America. This protest is not only about internet gambling, online poker, or government wire tapping. This is about the United States government taking away personal freedoms that were guaranteed to us in the Constitution. This protest is about Americans who demand that we get our personal freedoms back. They have taken away our ability to use our own finances in whatever way we please. They are taking away are freedoms one by one and this has to stop! In this protest there will be questions raised that Americans want answered, such as, where do our legislators draw the line between a free society and complete government control over our individual lives? For those not in the know, know this, while millions of Americans safely played poker online one Friday night, Senator Bill Frist attached anti-internet gambling legislation to a completely unrelated Port Security Bill that only few members of Congress knew about. The bill passed because no one could vote against a Port Security measure, yet many members of both the House and Senate were baffled as to how such a hugely unrelated measure could also be attached. Senator Frist came out to Southern Baptists a few days later in a letter explaining how he achieved his goal of appeasing his conservative backers. Frist said that he is anti-gambling because gambling contributes to the destruction of American families, yet he has accepted large sums of campaign contributions from Harrah's Entertainment. There is corruption in the United States government and Americans want it stopped, now! We are requesting that offshore casinos send mass emails to their player base explaining that there will be a large scale protest on November 3-4 in Washington D.C. We are requesting that the mass media of the United States pay some attention to the freedoms that this government has taken away from us. We are requesting that all Americans who want to live in the free country that they once so loved, come and fight to get it back. Three days before elections would be a perfect time to be heard. This is short notice, but we are requesting all speakers, organizers, and other interested parties to promote us in our fight to get America back. For more information contact protest organizer D. In an electorate of about 100 million, this is rather significant. Protests are a good way to bring attention to government corruption, but voting these a.ssholes out of their cushy little DC offices could actually change something. I'm not a democrat, and to be honest, I think that party is despicable in many ways too. But for f-ck's sake, it's time for a change. Get out and vote democratic this election day. Now the bill has actually passed and we're still saying, "it won't get worse, just sit back and it'll figure itself out."I think if a protest is going to work for anything ever, it's going to work for online poker. This is an issue that I believe many in government don't understand the public support for. The entire point of a protest is to demonstrate that there are many throughout the country who are devoted enough to an issue to travel far and spend their precious time in the cold shouting about it. I think if many in the government took this issue seriously and understood that it meant so much to so many people, then in the future there may actually be a vote on the issue rather than having the government feel comfortable with simply stapling it to the back of some port bill. As a veteran, a life member of several associations, and a middle aged dude who has been around the block a time or two, I can tell you that the politicians do not listen to the people. We are losing our freedoms one by one. We are bogged down in a war that is costing thousands of young lives and billions of dollars. Drugs, disease, and criminals are pouring across our southern border on a massive scale. Taxes eat up most of the income we take in. Insurance and oil companies are recording record profits while moms and dads work multiple jobs to make ends meet, and they still come up short because the cost of living increases daily while wages haven't. Healthcare sucks, doctors are being pushed out of business due to high insurance overhead. The government uses anti-terrorism laws to tighten the rein on U.S. citizens while Osama is still on the loose. But, we have managed to put many U.S. soldiers on trial for BS war crimes everytime some terror loving moron cries foul. Corporations rip off stockholders and customers on a regular basis. But, we did get that wiley Martha Stewart for lying to a federal agent. God forbid you lie to the government. But they can lie to you with no accountability. The country is getting more screwed up by the hour, and all those SOBs in D.C. (Republican and Democrat) want to do is police your moral values. They are going to save your soul by watching over what you do for entertainment. And control how and where you spend your money. Big Brother? No, I like to call em Big Mother! But I need a guarantee of persons that will show for that. I have to get permits from Washington, this all takes an amp amount of time. As I said I would have to go through steps to do this. Anyone that is planning to attend needs to visit the website created just for this, leave the answer as to their plans to attend. The website is http://www.onlinegamblingrights.com It is fairly new, everyone who wants to help with this, please go sign your name to the guest book. I have as you can see from the information on the site, obtained permits for the 3-4. So if you have a number of a mass attendance that could possibly also stay or be there until the 5th, I would be more than glad to seek the permits and get it all taken care of in Washington.You have a great point as to the meaning of that day. But at the same time, without prior knowledge of how many could attend, I can not contact the media for coverage. I need amp time for all of this. Everyone is in dire need to spread the word about this. Some say "what good would this do" the answer to that is this: Stand up for your rights as Americans and your freedom to play on line, bet on line, or whatever you choose to do with your own money within your own homes. If we sit idle to this, then the legislation wins. I can't fight it alone, I need everyone that believes in the rights of America and the constitution to help with the fight we are going to achieve by this protest.
