Anyone Ever Get A Security Escort To Their Car At The Casino?

Recommended Posts

I brought a good chunk with me, then equalled my biggest winner ever, and to make matters weirder, there was a big, HUGE dude at my table who had a problem w/ me. I busted him, and he hung around the table for 20 or 30 minutes w/ no chips, like he was waiting for me to leave. Then he went away, but when I was getting up from the table w/ my racks of chips I saw him again, just kinda hanging around the room. Maybe I was paranoid, but it definitely had me a little freaked out.

Won over $5K in Tahoe in the late 80s. Lots of folks were getting rolled back then. Got escorted by 2 security dudes and slipped them each a Benjamin. It was at Harveys and they were always cool, even when I got drunk and crazy!!

More importantly, how much did you win and what games were you playing?
I was only playing 5/10 Hold 'em. I won $500, and had more than that on me. If it weren't for the creepy, HUGE dude at my table I wouldn't have made an issue out of it, but something about him struck me wrong, and I decided to err on the side of caution

Ten bucks.
Well worth it. I tip the same when I get an escort. I get one if I'm alone and win anything substantial or at a table game where people are watching. I got stuck up once. Luckily I had my 100s stashed in my coat pocket, and about 140 in smaller bills that I kept in my pocket for precisely that reason. He bought it that it was all I had, after I almost cracked when he said, "I SAID ALL OF IT! DON'T MAKE ME SEARCH YOU! If I FIND MORE I'M GONNA SHOOT THE **** OUT OF YOU!!" He wasn't a poker player :club: , because I hesitated for a split second after he said that. "Nah man, that's all of it, LOOK"! The roll looked fairly fat(fat if you're resigned to robbing people at least) and he looked at it, then me, and said "Aiight, roll out. Crazy white boy...." I was on my way to a room that was 24/7 on the weekends. I got there and told the story about bluffing a stickup guy and we all laughed about the crazy white boy ending. Maybe his read on me was better than I thought. I think 10 is a good amount. Enough to show you appreciate it, but not so much where it looks like it doesn't mean anything to you. Of course our cost of living is higher here than Chicago. Just curious what the going rate was. Anyway, not to hiijack your thread. Go Cardinals!

Really, the cost of living is higher in St. Louis??? Surprising. The funniest part about the escort, is I totally couldn't find my car. We walked around for probably 5 or 10 minutes looking. At that point I was especially glad I had protection.

when i read the topic i was like "oh i gotta post."the first winning night i ever had was when i won $160 at casino morongo about 5 years ago (before money maker won the WSOP or the WPT was televised). i knew nothing about nothing and it was only a little less than i know now.i seriously thought about asking a security guard to escort me to my car. i mean i had like $240 dollars on me.five years latter i still get the same wierd feeling from time to time. after a 32 hour session everyone looks like a thief when you got six thousand in your pocket. and i still think about asking a security guard.then i remember that money is paper with an idea that other people subscribe to. i can choose to subscribe to their idea or not to. checking books out from the library is free.

My take on it is call your buddies up and have them meet you there and roll him if he trys to roll you, no not really but it prolly was a good idea to err on the side of caution.
It was like 2:15 in the morning, and the casino is about an hour from the city. I don't think any of my friends were helping me out here...

Ben! That was you? Sorry to freak you out like that man. I just thought you were cute. You are on the down low right?JK. There were times that I might have needed a security guard going in....but not coming out.

Last week at the table a drunk guy got rivered for over half of his stack. He says to the kid where are you parked at so I acn get my money back later. I am pretty sure he was just messing around with him but then he kept on adgering him and got escorted out. I found out that any threat made towards another player at that casino gets you kicked out for the night.

Doesn't it draw more attention to you to get escorted out by security? I mean, anyone smart would just figure you have a ton of money on you and follow you home, then you're really screwed... I'd say best bet is to park valet every time and just get your car and get the hell out. When I cashed the wsop event I was nervous as hell, Steve was there and he told me to throw the cash in my bag and just keep it on me the whole time. Later that night at the RIO my friend came by and got like 20k from his safety deposit box and just stuffed it in his pockets...we were paranoid as hell, it would have reeeally suck to get robbed, but I figured getting security to follow us around would be dumb, didn't want to attract some negative attention....Funny sidenote, when we got back to the hotel my friend put his cash in the room's safe, next morning he's rushing to get to the airport, checks out of the hotel, gets in the cab and realizes he left the money in the safe. That would've sucked more than getting robbed :club:.

I once won a little at the 4/8 table, and this guy that I busted was hanging around. When I was walking away I noticed him, so I detoured over to the black jack table and sat down, figured I could wait him out.Lost 3/4 of the money I won grinding for 5 hours in about 15 minutes.I think he works for the casino

Valet. Sense of security is worth the $10 or whatever they charge.
If that, vegas is free...like $2-5 tip will do... LA is like 2 bux at commerce...I once parked regular at the bike cuz the valet line was too long, walking through the parking lot was like walking through compton.
