Early in a live tournament, villain is crazy old black guy that has called all in with j9 but thinks he is a great playerQuick summary of the hand:He limps, I limp from SB with AJs, bb doesnt matter, flop is really low with 2 diamonds, I think my plan was to checkraise, checks around, turn some rag I check, bb checks, villain bets kinda small, I call, bb folds. On the river I make the nuts and I check obv hoping he bets, he flips over his pair of 8s.... I MUCKThoughts?

It may be that I'm drunk, but I don't understand this post. If I'm reading it right, do you want to play poker sometime?

welcome back aka conditioner...we missed you.
dammit, i was going to throw in a witty comment like "did you tell him he had been 'conditioned?'" but you somewhat beat me to it...luckily i don't hate you, or you'd be off my christmas card list (i don't really have one, and you wouldn't really be on it anyways, but the thought of being taken off of it would crush your spirit, and we can't have that)

Hey Ricker, I just remember the phrase "and ricker has a bankroll..." )So, what have u been doin' with that bankroll? Sunday tourneys? Super Weekdays? or americans don't play at party poker anymore??
I never actually really played at Party. I mostly stuck with bodog, only because their tourneys are super soft and there's an overlay 90% of the time and the jew in me can't pass that up. Umm for the most part, I've been doing ok. I had a huge downswing this month, so I'm taking that break and rereading some of my poker books, try and recapture that magic I had before. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the money I have left from the bankroll, and am continuing my old schedule of playing when I could afford it at the levels I'm comfortable at (20/40, thru 5/10) plus throwing in some live tourneys every now and again. Thanks for asking by the way.

There's no way that you'll play enough hands against this guy in the future for it to be worth the value of the pot.Even the shittiest most simple minded players might try to checkraise the river there.I doubt it'll change how he plays against you.

And, when I'm playing, I don't think 2/3rds of the table are paying enough attention to the other players to BE conditioned. How many times have you folded for an hour, raised 4 times the BB when you finally get a solid hand and have 3 or 4 callers?Just sayin'

lol alright..well the pot was really small, so not winning it doesn't hurt and winning it probably won't make a difference either, and it was at a tournament table that wasn't going to break soon and people were paying attention, not only that, the guy would make sure everyone at the table knew I tried to slowplay him etc etc. So I think in this very situation it would be better to just let it go..(In the actual hand I bet the river and he called and moaned and bitched for a while)
