Tigerlite 0
geez Ivey is aswesomeWould you expand upon this thought? I'm not taking issue with you at all, just wondering why so many folks think he is so great. Thanks
psujohn 0
Would you expand upon this thought? I'm not taking issue with you at all, just wondering why so many folks think he is so great. ThanksI think Ivey is great because I've heard a lot of the top pros say that Ivey is great and I trust their ability to judge someone's poker ability more than my own. GambleToWin 0
Every time I watch TLK and Ivey play on FT TLK usually wins. Sounds as if Ivey rocked him today. Go Phil!

ThanksHmm....Let's see...-Just about every pro says he is the best, or if not the best now ,he will become the best - Why would they lie about that?-He has 5 WSOP bracelets, and he is ony 30.-He won the Monte Carlo Millions in 2005, and got 3rd in 2004.-Barry Greenstein rates players, and Ivey is rated higher than any other player.-Not including Jamie Gold or Joe Hachem, he is 3rd in all time tourney winnings, only to Cunnigham and Negreanu.-He got 3rd in the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E event-He took Andy Beal for nearly 17 million, heads up.And these are only a small handful of his accomplishments. But yeah, I just don't see why people think hes any good... Thanksbesides his stats, you can't really explain it. I don't like him just becuase i think he is the best. I used to think Randy Johnson was the best pitcher but he wasn't my favorite. It is something you can't explain-like why my favorite food is pizza

It is something you can't explain-like why my favorite food is pizzaHis resume is obviously very impressive, but again, that's his accomplishments, it really doesn't substantively describe why he's been able to accomplish those things or why he's so "great". In other words, great results, but how and why does he get those great results that other players do not.

_Great_Dane_ 0
Would you expand upon this thought? I'm not taking issue with you at all, just wondering why so many folks think he is so great. ThanksWhen I first read this, I didn't reply because I didn't want to affect anyone else's replies. Now that a handful of people have replied, here's mine:I feel that a lot of people (especially in the poker message boards) have heard so many pro's say that Ivey is the best and they're just jumping on the bandwagon. A couple of the replies before mine reinforce this feeling.Ivey's got a great record in a lot of games besides NLH (unlike Hellmuth) and he's fearless when he plays. Betting, raising, and reraising with nothing or with a draw can be tough to do, and he's great at it; until he gets caught like when Hachem reraised all in with the best hand. There's no comeback to an all in bet when you're bluffing - other than saying "nice hand."I'm not going to say that he's the best. I'm not going to say that anyone is the best. Ivey's in my top ten. _Great_Dane_ 0
funniest post ever.I'm still getting a good laugh out of it !!!"He's crafty." It reminds me of Gene Hackman's character describing the field goal kicker in the movie "The Replacements" when he says, "he's wirey."Oh yeah, Czech. And here's that important link that you were asking for: *****
