Essay21 2,385
Now that our idiot coach has squirmed away from telling the fans fvck off, we can focus on beating whatever shit schoo we're playing this week so it can look like things are improving. But with t magic in a walking boot, you sit him and start Tom Armstrong. Let him play the whole game. He needs the reps and I don't want to see one down of fat Ron Kellogg out there. Time to see what tommy can do.

Essay21 2,385
I have thought about that. But two things: (1) Pelini isn't getting fired because the big ten is so bad we win 9-11 games and (2) frost is in his first year as a coordinator so even if Pelini does get fired they won't hire frost because he doesn't have enough high level experience.
BigDMcGee 3,352
well that's where I'm one step ahead of you, boss. I already figured Pelini wouldn't get fired this season into my calculations. He will get this year, and a lame duck year under the new AD, and then the New AD will want to get his own man. After a couple of years in the revolutionary and sexy oregon system, and given his ties to the university, I think Frost would be a top candidate. Maybe it won't happen, but I want it to happen. We need someone who both has ties to the university, and has a radical offensive vision that can make up for not having top talent. I think Frost is perfect.
Essay21 2,385
You're two steps ahead of me there and I like where you're at. Two years from now Scotty may be ready to come home.,
NickCave 194
I like where your heads are at, but I think you're missing a crucial element. If Oregon finishes the year anything like how they've started, what makes you think Nebraska will have the cache to hire Scott Frost in two years? He's running the best offense in the country, has professional experience on both sides of the ball, both as a player and a coach, and has the bona fides, All American good looks, college hardware, and charm to go into any house in the country and recruit son, impress father, and give mom an orgasm with one smoldering glance. HE WON'T WANT YOU. As a former Sparty and lifetime Michigan fan, I would be very, very unhappy if Scotty Frost took a job in the Big 10. As much as the league sucks right now, it's going to come around in a few years, and I'd be terrified if I had to see Scott Frost's pussy crushing face in a recruit's living room. The only thing more terrifying? Fake Ryan Gosling If I were the President or Provost (I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT WORD MEANS BUT LET'S KEEP IT IN) or whatever of University of Texas, I'd fire my athletic director and call Kliff's agent and offer him the keys to the kingdom. "Kliff? Tex Powers, here. I want you to pretend you've kidnapped my daughter. Can you see her? Young and innocent in your basement? Now, like they say, I won't call the police or the FBI, but I WILL do whatever you want, as long as you don't rape and kill my daughter. So, how much, and where does it go?" "Also, if money isn't the issue, that other thing might could be arranged."
BigDMcGee 3,352
because he won a god damn National Championship at Nebraska, you son of a bitch, he's a husker through and through.
NickCave 194
because he won a god damn National Championship at Nebraska, you son of a bitch, he's a husker through and through. I hope you're wrong. And I edited my previous post over a period of about three hours, during which your reply was posted. EDIT: Hahaha, "husker through and through." How many years did he coach at Nebraska? Did they ever offer him a real position? He went to No. Iowa to get a job. At no point did he ever get back to Nebraska, despite what I am sure is a number of open positions filled during that stretch. He's 38, and as far as I know, the only thing Nebraska has ever offered him is free blowjobs for life. In the next few years, assuming Kelly and Helfrich don't kill him, he'll be able to be pretty choosy. Yeah, Helfrich is basically his age, so he's going to have to leave and, sure, maybe Nebraska offers him the job, but at this point he can ride Mariota to any job he wants, realistically. If you were Frost, would you take the Huskers job?
brvheart 1,747
Actually, I'm pretty confident that BigD would take the Huskers job. I might even bet a few of my kids that he would.
Essay21 2,385
Scott frost was born and raised in Nebraska. He wouldn't turn us down. To hell with you for even suggesting otherwise.
Cha! Cha! 628
What if Oregon promises him the head coaching job when their current guy moves on?
Essay21 2,385
Doesn't matter. He's a Nebraskan born and bred, GBR even after he's dead.
BigDMcGee 3,352
And actually, I do think Nebraska would be a perfect job for him. I don't think a young OC with no head coaching experience can get "any job he wants" No matter who it is, particularly one with only 2 years experience on the job. He would have to get promoted, possibly at oregon if their head coach moves on, or he would take a good job some where else. I don't think Texas, USC, Alabama, Ohio State, or a program of that tier would gamble on a coach who has never had head coaching experience. He would, how ever, be attractive to the next tier of schools, who need to take a chance at discovering the next great head coach, and don't quite have the money/gravitas to attract the next "it" head coaching candidate. And so, while I don't think Nebraska could compete with a Texas or USC if they come calling... they won't come calling. Frost is too green for that kind of job. And he's probably too green for the Nebraska job, but with his ties to the school make him particularly attractive, because those ties could keep him here, if he does have success here and becomes the "it" next head coaching candidate. The only school I'd really be afraid of snagging him is Oregon itself, if their head coach moves on and they promote frost for continuity. Nebraska would be more attractive to frost, than any school that is likely to come calling in the next few years.
