It's going to be a bitter sweet game. It will be fun playing them one last time, but the truth is they haven't been our rival since the big 12 was formed, and it's a pity. When I was a kid OU-NU was EVERYTHING, and now it's an afterthought. It will be fun to have rivals again, iowa, penn state, michigan.... the.. um.. sooner we get out of this conference the better.

OU's running back Demarco Murray is hurt. It's possible he dresses and plays a few snaps but he won't be very effective. The backup running back Madou has butter fingers and will put the ball on the ground. OU's special teams is atrocious. They've had issues covering kicks though it's marginally improved this year. It's been years since OU's had a field goal kicker that we could count on making 40+ yarders so they tend to go for it on 4th down and >8ish outside the 30 yrd line. OU historically plays badly on the road when it counts like big 12 championship, bowl and national championship games. However, the conference is completely biased against Nebraska for abandoning the big 12 and the refs aren't going to let them win.

If there is a disparity in calls like the A&M game, I'm afraid Pelini will have an anger stroke on the sideline. He might murder someone.Murray not playing is bad for OU, but if T-Magic isnt healthy, I dont see how he can be, Ou just needs to score 24 point probbaly.

i mean, yeah. if shawn watson (offensive co-ordinator) isnt fired i will hurt a small animal. the play on 3rd and 8, when already in field goal range that allowed any possibility of losing yards is a fireable offense. what in the world could have made that play call seem smart? martinez had looked like shit all game. just run it there. kick it. tie game. move on. fuck me that was so horrifically stupid i might hurt myself. i might punch a wall.

in all fairness, the call on 2nd down was genious, but poorly executed. if burkhead has time to throw, its 6. also, if martinez just throws the ball away on 3rd and goal in the first half, its 20-7 and a completely different ball game. oh well, he's young, he's expected to fuck up.anyways, now that the game is over, i think brent musburger and kirk herbstreit are gonna have a celebratory strokefest in the booth. i hate watching games these two d-bags call. its usually quite apparent that they're rooting for one of the teams, especially with musburger. also, the headline on espn.com following the game seemed to be done by someone who either hates nebraska, or likes OU. in case its different by the time anyone reads this and you're curious, it says "See You Later -- Oklahoma sent Nebraska packing and earned a ticket to the Fiesta Bowl." personally i found it kinda funny, but you know its gonna burn the piss outta lameass diehard husker fans.

Nebraska had that game multiple times. OU couldn't do shit in the running game, had a terrible time defending against Burkheads option attack and obviously the turnovers had the biggest impact on the outcome. I'm so tilted at having a field goal kicker that can't make a 30 yarder from the right hash and ****ing cover the spread. I was so hoping they'd go for it there. I know this isn't the thread for me bitching about OU and our deficiencies but man, that guy just blows. I'm not happy that this game is possibly the last meaningful time OU and Nebraska will match up. You guys have a really good team.

yeah, that was a good call because the wildcat had been working. martinez dropping back had not. all game long he'd taken bad sacks or made poor throws. we have the three, just wildcat again and i'm happy.

and thats why a good coach would protect him. with a shovel pass. or a screen. or a qb draw. or more wildcat. anything to keep oklahoma from just keying on him taking the same drop every play. i won't be convinced watson is a good coach. how many more times do we have to watch this talent struggle?

oh don't get me wrong man, the dude is terrible. really the only play you couldn't see coming the entire night was the blown pass to martinez. the only intelligent thing herbstreit said all night was how incompetent nebraska is when they have to rely on the passing game.and gw, i agree man, it sucks to see the rivalry end, but at least it was a somewhat interesting game to go out on, and not some 48-6 blowout on one side or the other.

to be honest tho, the rivalry hasn't been the same since the big 12 started. When it was on the friday after thanksgiving, it was a special rivalry. When they stopped playing every year it just wasn't. Putting colorado in that spot was a joke. I'll miss oklahoma, but not as much as I'm looking forward to becoming rivals with Penn State ,Michigan and Iowa.
