Poker Is Changing For The Worst

Well, wouldn't he have gotten a fold from you if you held less than AK or AA ?Would you fold JJ there?I certainly don't play NL cash well, but if he has postion and the board in K552, 77 looks pretty decent against a pre-flop raiser capaoble of laying down KQ, 77-QQ. I don't have the balls to make that play thoughI guess what I'm saying is, I never become to bewildered or flusterd by super-aggressiveness. I have some odd respect for it
I think this is a good way of looking at things. Everyone is always looking for a way to call someone a donk or berate their play. Maybe this was a donk, or maybe he had the stones to go big. Either way, getting frustrated is no good.

Assuming that you're best at beating intermediate players (which makes little sense to begin with)
i find the intermediate players to be the easiest ones to skin. i love john smith who has read 3-4 poker books and is confident in his game and can make "great folds." IMHO, and i think most of the exceptional players out there will agree, its easier to beat these players consistently than a horrible player because: INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS ARE TRANSPARENT. -steal

no, there was no way this was anything other than that the guy had no idea where he was in the hand, so decided to stick it all in and hope i folded or he was winning. i'd seen him do it previously. i never showed any weakness in the hand, and had position on him as he had called from the blinds. he open pushed after the 2 on the turn.like i said, it was nonsensical.

Why do so many "good" players hate that there are so many "bad" players? Seriously, if you truly believe you're a good player, why complain about "bad" players? Maybe you need to reevaluate what category you're in.

Players often give their opponents too much credit for knowing what they have. I know no one wants to read the "You know you're playing a fish when..." thread in its entirety, but a good portion of the posts in that thread are the fish saying "Why'd you call me down there? I was representing (some big hand)." These mediocre players are good enough preflop, but after the flop are somewhat clueless. A lot of the time you have to go back to level one and just play your cards. Nothing wrong with that if you're a solid player.

that was the fun part, even though i lost. i started thinking about what he could possibly have gotten that far into the hand with where he now thought it was a good idea to shove the rest of his money in against me. i had to rule out a 5 and thought 22 was a long shot, but a possibility. then i thought, no, it's just some idiotic hand wherein KJ is probably the top end of what i could expect to be up against. i was pretty much correct, but lost. 'tis poker.
