Al Smooth 0
I believe what rippytide was trying to say is that Pokertracker will aid you in making money now, but will not make you a better poker player. His warning is against becoming dependent on the software instead of your reads about a players activity or non activity. Personally I find poker tracker to be a valuable tool that helped me find out alot about my own play, both cash and tournament games, and helped me analyze what I needed to do to become a better player. I used it, wasn't dependent on it and for that it IS A VERY VALUABLE TOOL. I would recommend it to any and all online poker players who wish to improve their game but would issue the same warning as rippytide but in a different way.Use it to learn, but learn to get better. I agree with you there. The reason I called you an idiot is because you said pokertracker sucks, which is just dumb. You have many more advantages of getting reads when playing live so pokertracker can help "fill in" these missing reads. The object of playing poker online for most people is to make money. Most people play multiple tables to do this and with the hundreds of thousands of people that play online you don't always sit with the same people. (Unless you have pokertracker which allows you to find bad players and get a VERY detailed summary of how they play, yeah pokertracker sucks)I don't know about you but i'd rather not have to work on getting reads on people at a single table, and just take money from a few few people on a few tables. I see your point that pokertracker is not the best for practicing reads and learning the game (it actually does help though) but it does not suck :PJust don't post stupid responses about things you don't really know much about and people won't call you an idiot. The O.P was asking for recommendations on "poker tracking" software, not whether it's going to help him practice his reads and learn the game better. Learning the game better and using the software to make money are 2 very different things.

Oh, and not you, in particular, but a random "you", lol. Now, let's keep in mind I've never played higher than 5/10 LHE, or 200 NL, and that I've never used PokerTracker in a tournament, in terms of overlaying stats on the table, so whatever that means...lolYou're being really hostile lately, dude. tallytownFSU 0
Rippy,What says pokertracker is not valuable?I personally played 40k hands at micro limits this summer, because I felt there was a hole in my game that I couldn't figure out, and guess what, it was glaring. No other software could've told me I was cold calling too many raises out of position. Now that I've tightened that up, Im playing much better. So, in short, PT p3wns a77.

My live game has gotten better because of PT and so I especially disagree there.Maybe it's not for you but I'd be careful about dismissing this program altogether Rippie.
