The best quote I ever heard any pro say came from the fingers of Daniel: "You don't have to push if the donkey is pulling."I've read prolly 30 damn books, that one phrase will pay for them all.
i think layne flack came up with that one.

"I have a better chance of winning this tournament with a short stack than i do a big stack" Mike Matusow said this after saying things like ...wow only 25 million chips to go in the 2004 main event.

"Ya can't play for napkins." -Daniel ribbing Matusow. "If it weren't for luck, I'd win every poker tournament." I'm not even going to put a name on that one.

was watching a british tourney, the one with tables of 6 squaring off. gus hanson had won a few pots after getting all in with the worst hand. as they discussed it at the table, gus said, "i like taking it from behind." i'm immature. i laughed.

ok, this was on TV.Gus Hansen against the Magician on the WPT. The magician pushes all in with 77 (I think it was 77, either 77 or 66, been awhile since I saw it). Anyway, the memorable part, Hansen proceeds to say " I can't fold, I have 9 high". Everyone looks at him funny, Vince and Mike comment, thinking he meant to say he can't "call" with 9 high. Then he say's it again, "I can't fold, I have 9 hight". He calls with 2 overs (9 high), and hits, busting the Magician. Funniest thing I've heard from a Pro.

I like something I heard Doyle Brunson say on TV when he was talking about the chances a pro has in a big tournament. He used a good example. He said, "Winning a big tournament now is like winning the lottery. The pros have a lot more tickets than the amateurs, but we still have to be lucky to win the lottery." It was something like that anyways. I thought it was a perfect explanation for the big tournaments now.
