To the people on here that are actually listening, which I see are quite a few, the bill doesn't technically make online gambling illegal, the problems is not that you are going to be in trouble playing no money on line and playing at UB.net, it is where you have money involved and the banks, either offshore or on, have not given the government their due. Why do you think that the lobbyist, foreign and domestic, have been lobbying against not having this put in the same bill, as the bill is SOUND, that is why it is going to pass. So the previous poster above when he said it was not illegal to gamble, technically, he is correct, the bill doesn't say that, it is what the banks are going to do when they get in trouble paying out and taking deposits, which after this passes, full signing by President GWB should be completed by October 11, 2006.Okay, that is my last post. It could happen a lot earlier however FIs will need time to implement systems to comply)The FBI will not be interested in any activity until these regulations are in place as obvioulsy they would be investigating activites that are still legal.Secondly the act is directed at institutions, so your claim that they will be tracking 'all players' is ludicrous.Take it elsewhere

I agree. DO you know how many people we are talking about here? It's gotta be in the 1-2 million people range of those who play online poker for money on some level or the other.Not to say that the government could do it, I'm just not convinced that they will be ABLE to do it. I would say it's waaaaaaay too early to start worrying yet.However, when the shit hits the fan it's going to put a huge strain on payment processors and online gaming companies. It's not inconceivable that somewhere down the line there are going to be a lot of posts from people who were told that they aren't getting paid. Especially those that deal with smaller sites.I'm not sayig you're going to get rolled up for being a terrorist but keeping an eye on stuff down the road and getting your cash out early could save you some money.

I have to say...This came at the absolute perfect time...My bankroll was about $2K and I took a shot at 3/6 NL the other day and dropped $350....Then quit poker and withdrew everything from my accounts...So now I don't give a ****...Although I am saddened that I will have a much tougher time if I want to get into the WSOP this year. I think I'll be forced to play a $1000 event the first week and hope I win to pay for other events...lol the dream lives on...

because if the bill is strictly enforced the bank may not be allowed to cash your check if it comes from an online gambling site.
