How To Save Online Poker

Where is the country headed exactly? No one seems to want to believe that the economy is outstanding. The recession ended nearly two years ago. The DOW is at record highs. We won the war in Iraq in a matter of weeks. Saddam is no longer a threat. OBL may be dead. There hasn't been a single repeat attack on American soil since 911.
Am I missing something here? We are trillions of dollars in debt. Iraq is in a virtual state of civil war. The total number of soldiers killed in action has surpassed the death toll of 911. There is no end in sight, and Rumsfeld is being pressured to resign. When exactly did we "win" the war? I've been over there 3 times already, going over for my fourth time this winter. If we've won the war, it's definately news to me. :club:

Thanks for your service. Yes. Contrary to what the Liberal Media have tried to report. We won the war in weeks. Is the clean-up a mess? You bet your butt. That whole region is inhabited by extremist savages. That didn't happen - and will not end as a result of military action. Have we lost some men and women in the process? Yes - but I think it is rather significant that we have only lost about the same number of troops as innocent civilians that were murdered on 911. And again, thanks for your service.

Again, exactly how has President Bush disrespected individual rights.
Well the 2 that jump to mind immediately are...1. ...the fact that any American citizen can be illegally wiretapped, without a warrant, without probable cause, and without consent.2. ...the [government initiated] illegal search and seizure at airports through Bush's new Department of Homeland Security. This one is important. Sure, you had to go through metal detectors and surrender all weapons before boarding an airplane before DHS/TSA, BUT (and this is a HUGE but) those searches were mandated in a contract that you agreed to with the airline when you bought your ticket AND the searches were performed by independent firms hired by the airlines/airports to enforce that contract. A governmental agency performing these searches, while ignoring existing private contracts or even forcing airlines to change their contracts, is a clear violation of the 4th Amendment.

So, we "won" a meaningless, symbolic war in weeks. Whoopity ****ing doo! The war ain't over until we stop sending new troops over there, they stop dying, and we stop pumping billions of dollars a week into a war that, according to you, we have already won.

Read the paper much? The (so called "Ultra Conservative") Supreme Court struck this down.

I'll admit I don't like even having to show Identification to travel - but guess what folks the rules changed, bad guys are flying planes into buildings, bad guys are putting bombs in shoes, bad guys are inventing ways to make SPORTS DRINKS INTO FREAKING BOMBS!!! I guess you think this is Bush's fault too?

Does that change the fact that Bush did it, and would have continued to do it had it not been leaked to the media? Whether or not it still happens, the fact of the matter is that Bush has proven that he wipes his *** with Constitution toilet paper every day. He sure as hell isn't upholding his oath to abide by the Constitution.

This is precisely the reason that he is getting away with flushing civil liberties down the toilet! People like you are so scared that you gladly surrender your civil liberties to the government for some grand illusion of safety and security. I, for one, don't feel even a little bit safer travelling today with the TSA checking my luggage and person than I did when private companies were doing the same thing. In fact, I would feel safer if a company that had a profit motive to provide excellent security were performing the checks instead of some lazy-*** government worker that will have a job tomorrow whether he has a 100% success rate or 10% success rate at finding weapons in luggage.

I haven't read the entire clause in the Safe Port act but I've heard some people say that the reason they included the online gambling clause had something to do with terrorist activity? WTF? Since when do we simply cut off a medium that has some remote possibility of harming this country? After 9/11 did the government shut down all air travel forever? No they found a way to deal with the problem, not that the solution was the best but it was a solution. I hate how this government shys away from doing their jobs by simply outlawing whatever it is they decide not to approve of. I watched a video on youtube of Pat Buchanan talking about how concerned he is that a worker will go home and blow his pay check gambling online. First of all if that's his choice so be it, since when does the government feel it is all high and mighty and can regulate how we spend our own hard earned money? If this is the problem they are concerned with then step up and take some real action to educate people about gambling addiction just like we've dealt with alcoholism and other issues. This government is off it's rocker! If this country has any chance it's the Libertarian party.

At least you have a rational point of view and debate style.

Try to buy any dope recently......or set up your own casino in your back yard......or an oil refinery in your subdivision......or purchase more than 5 packages of Sudafed......or practice medicine without a license? All of the hand wringing over "Lost Civil Liberties" because of stinking on-line gambling cracks me up.

I don't even consider this current issue to be a loss of civil liberty, but if it gets millions of people riled up and looking for an alternative, I'm going to take that opportunity to sing the praises of Libertarianism. As for your crack about my rational point of view, I think you have proven yourself irrational with your assertion that the war in Iraq is over and we won.

In my opinion, we indeed did win wars with Iraq. Twice. And with remarkably few casualties. I believe this is a debatable, however rational point of view.

What is your definition of "win"? The first time we went into Iraq, we got them to leave Kuwait, but we didn't topple the govenrment and suffered very few casualties. This time, we toppled the government but we have yet to pull out and are suffering more casualties by the day. I don't consider either one of those a win, but if I were choosing, I would say that the 1st Gulf War was 10 times the success of the current war.Do you also think that we "won" Viet Nam?

Vietnam was a very different conflict. Over 200,000 Americans Killed, missing, or wounded in action. 5,000,000 North Vietnamese Killed, 2 - 4,000,000 Civilians killled and an additional 3,000,000"affected" by Agent Orange. 230,000 South Vietnamese Killed or Missing in Action. To even try and compare the two crosses from "Rational" to "Demagogury". Not a "win" in my book.

The only difference that I see so far is time. We were in Viet Nam for 18 years (1957 - 1975). We have only been in Iraq for 3 years (2003 - 2006). My comparison wasn't between the number of soldiers killed or wounded, but how much good is going to come if we actually do accomplish anything, what are we really hoping to accomplish, and will there ever be any type of exit strategy that doesn't make us look incompetent.

Look incompetent? Frankly, that is so far down on my list of priorities. We toppled a dangerous dictator who had killed tens of thousands of his own people, was a threat to the region, and continually defied UN Sanctions. We defeated an army that at one time was the region's strongest, best trained, and weaponed. In doing so, we limited civilian casualties and collateral damage to a minimum. We also limited multi national coalition casualties to an amazingly low number. We set up a new Democracy and gave people a taste of freedom for the first time in their lives. We helped them hold free elections. We continue to help them stabilize and rebuild. Mission accomplished. Not bad progress in just a couple of years. (Multi National Invasion March 2003 - Free Elections January 2005)

Gee, or perhaps he actually believes that it is a good law.
The fact of the matter is, whether he THINKS it's a good law is irrelevant. And the fact that he was able to sneak it through without debate is a huge abuse of power. Bill Frist is not the King of the United States of America. How he was able to get this bill approved without debate is appalling, and should outrage EVERY American, whether you support this particular bill or not.Who the hell is Bill Frist to dictate what we can and can't do with our money?

What is the difference between a dictator that kills 10's of thousands of his own people and having a fledgling democracy in place that is supposedly in charge, yet hundreds of thousands are dying in the civil war? I don't believe for a second that you give half a **** what system of government they have in Iraq...oh wait, yes I do. Bush told you to think that we are better off with democracy in Iraq, so you believe it. I don't feel any safer or better about myself or my country knowing that Saddam Hussein is no longer in power or that another country will know the quiet opression of the democratic government.

Personally... I believe all of you are missing the point as why online gambling became a issue.1. Online Gambling had nothing to do with funding terrorist activity.2. Online gambling had nothing to do with generating additional tax revenue.Congress/Senate people out the blue do not create/write bills on their own, Congress/Senate people listen to people who file complaints with their office then decide how passing a law can affect their ability to be reelected and or generate publicity for themselves. The reason I think may have contributed to the campaign against online gambling."Too Many People Felt They Were Being Cheated".

How about this:The sites make phone card companies. Rekop Ytrap Phone Pre-paid Phone Cards, Inc., or, Rekop Srats, Inc. They sell you $100 cards, the cc company has to let it go through, and they take the cards same as cash?CC companies can't be expected to track every charge to see if it goes to a gaming site.
Isn't it funny how one of the biggest arguments the government has used in defense of this stupid bill is that terrorist organizations will use these gambling sites as a place to launder money. And here's a suggestion that is completely plausible and is encouraging money laundering.I think it's hilarious and just shows how idiotic our government can be. A ban intended to prevent an activity will acually give rise to an entirely new system of that exact activity. Genius! :club:

Again...you can't buy fetus corpses to eat with your money. You can't buy vietnamese refugees to ritually murder in your back yard with your money. He "snuck" in this bill the same way they sneak in bills all the time. This is standard stuff. It is yet another useless law.

I watched a video on youtube of Pat Buchanan talking about how concerned he is that a worker will go home and blow his pay check gambling online.
The only reason Pat Buchanan is concerned is because none of that guy's paycheck is coming back to the US government in tax revenue. And the only point of this example is... Why should our government be concerned with this guy? He's a small percentage of the population, most of whom would never do such a dumb thing. There's nothing stopping this clown from driving to his nearest Indian casino and dumping his paycheck on their tables. Why doesn't our government setup roadblocks at the entrances to reservations to screen anyone trying to enter for an addictive personality?Man, this crap eats me alive! These self-righteous jackasses who we put in power just sit there and act like they know what's best. It's amazing how people are so willing to just take what the government feeds them. This is OUR GOVERNMENT people! WE, collectively, have the power to change it for our betterment. Please wake up and smell the coffee, because the coffee sucks and needs to be thrown out.

Give me a break! I really wish you would all stop with the ridiculous word twisting. You know damned well what I mean by "spending our money". There's no comparison between any of us sitting home spending our money playing a little poker and "buy(ing) fetus corpses to eat". These arguments are completely idiotic. Nobody is advocating the abolishment of all law. We're talking about something that is a victimless crime, and is only a crime because the government decided to make it one.
