in honor of Bill Frist's wonderful contribution to poker, I am now going to start referring to donks as elephants.who's with me?
I am 100% witcha. I always thought that I was a republican type person, but apparently they are just as much hypocrits as the democrats. This is exactly what they say they are against, government getting too involved in personal business and how MY money is spent. Give me a break... Damn elephants

Another troubling part of the bill is that it has language that forces ISP's to block access to "HyperText Links" to the gambling sites. It sounds like they mean the Site URL's. If this were enforced - similiar to China blocking Chinese access to forbidden outside sites - it could be even more damaging than the prohibition on Funds Transfers.PairTheBoard :club:
It looks like the most respected opinion at 2+2 on this issue is that this language in the Bill is talking about Forbidding American Web Hosting type facilities from letting Gambling Sites use American Servers to run their sites. If that's the case it wouldn't have much effect since this isn't being done anyway. I don't think there is a complete consensus on exactly what the Bill is talking about here. I guess we'll have to wait until the Lawmakers make themselves clear before we know for sure.PairTheBoard :D

I'de really like to think that this would just not go over well. The government being involved in the blocking of websites takes a step very far in a very bad direction. If they do this then this whole thing becomes about a lot more than being able to play poker online (to me anyway, hopefully others will see it that way too).

Why doesn't the US government allow online pokersites to operate legally with US players through regulation and taxes? Allowing them to setup in the US. If a player wins $1200 or more he/she has to pay taxes on it.I believe thats the limit set in Nevada casinos. Then the pokersite pays taxes on their end for whatever their profits are. With the popularity of WPT and WSOP tournaments and other poker shows broadcast on television nightly. How can they think they can just turn off online poker for millions of Americans? What is their plan? They have to be insane to piss off 20-30 million voters. I'm not ever going to stop playing poker online,if thats where I choose to play. :club: They better figure out something because they can't put us all in prison :D

Bush is probably playing online right now and drinking a Natural Light.
Bush is a fag. He probably doesn't even have the common courtesy to give Frist a reach around while he's plugging away at his ***.

who in here is taking all their money offline?
If and when I have to take my money out of online poker, it will be to hire a group of degenerate 13 yr olds to leave dog sh.it and firecrackers on Frist's door step, every morning before he leaves for work, until my bank roll runs out.

Will be taking funds out of smaller sites like Absolute & WpexWill stay with the big 2 PP&PS. There could be a 50% drop is action and the smaller sites could be gone in a flash. The $64 question of the moment is if the big sites shut down US based accounts like the smaller sites have been?

because they'd rather bitch about our economy going down the drain and having to cut funding across the board except for military spending in iraq rather than actually grow scrotums and change it. no, instead they look right at our deficit, then decide the best course of action, one that will help our deficit, is to tell a multi-billion dollar industry to go screw themselves.don't you love america? :club:
