AlTrade 0
I'll be staying at Bally's, looking to play low limits 1-2 or 2-4 no limit games and blackjack. Any suggestions on best card rooms to play at or where i should stay away from?Any suggestions on what attractions i should not miss and which may be over rated?Any help would be great. troyomac 0
I stayed at bally's too. Not sure how great their cardroom is, I didn't play there. Aladdin is close, and a nice room, and MGM has a great cardroom (IMO).
Gunslinger 0
I thought Bill Frist was going to Vegas. Now that would have been a story
Nikki_N 17
Caesars has a fantastic, top notch room. Do not miss it. Huge, away from all the slots. Tons of tables spreading any limit you want to play (well, except that pretty much all cardrooms spread 1/2 and 2/5 NL. Venetian's room is very nice and the staff is friendly. My husband also likes the Mirage.I very much enjoy the Wynn for being classy and acommodating.Bellagio is beautiful, but in my experience, the staff are less than accomodating to those who prefer to play below 80/160.As for MGM, everyone mostly loves it except for me. It's out in the open with slots, tourists and a loud bar. Now, let's get to where I prefer to play for my own reasons:Binions. Yes, to most it's a dump, but I adore the cardroom staff. Even the regulars are friendly. Can you get a vodka redbull here, like you can at the nicer casinos? No. Are the waitresses young and hot? No. I just like it there. The 1/2 NL game is no max and the wait to get a seat is usually non-existent because they open new tables often. They are quick to comp you for play without the hassle of the "players cards" and they'll give you a damn good room rate if you're wanting to stay for cheap.Oh yeah, and the Voodoo Lounge on the 51st floor of the Rio is a good place to party. Harrah's was awful. MGM is pretty nice. And on your first trip you should check out the Bellagio, you never know who you'll see. Last year I went in mid-October and saw the "Big Game" going on. DN, Ivey, David B, Huck Seed they were all in "Bobby's Room." Charles Oakley was two tables over it was pretty sweet. The room is tight but the players are fairly soft.Blackjack is -EV but if you are going to play all of the spots have decent set-ups. Ceasars has a couple of places to play and each place has it's own atmosphere it's a pretty good place. Wynn's Blackjack seemed to be spread pretty nice. Overall each casino has it's own feel, pick the one that fits you best.
Smog 0
I stayed at Ballys on my last trip if your looking to drink and play it is the best place imo. the bar is connected to the poker room.
Socrates 0
Just got back again last week or so. Mirage is nice if you're looking for more solid consistent play from the low limit players. MGM and the Wynn and others are great if you're willing to be patient and look for a big score every hour or so, you'll see about $150 in every pot at the 1/2 games. Play at Blly's when you're coming in for the night. they have super cheap tourneys at 1 or 2 in the moring and the 1/2 table is full of drunken ATMs.

psujohn 0
Making my first trip to Vegas in a few days. Staying at T.I. (I didn't pick it). Plan to play a bit of NL there and the noon tourney at Venetian. Maybe hit up MGM if I get the chance. It'll be my first time playing in a casino. I know that all of you could care less but I'm pretty excited.

ObeyTheDog 0
Go to Caesars, nice room.T.I. Poker Room is pretty bad. It's "nice" but it's so new that they usually only have 1 or 2 tables going....and well, there are just far better places out there to play.I suggest checking out a few of the one's mentioned, mainly MGM, Mirage, Caesars. And if you play in the venetian tourney, do the Saturday $500 one...10,000 starting chips. ripptyde 0
If you are looking for a nice soft low limit cash game...I suggest the Excaliber. Yea sure its kind of a dump, but the players are so fk'ing bad its ridiculous. As far as tourneys go, The Aladdin has a nice afternoon $60.00+$40.00 single rebuy tourney. Usually less than 100 players with a great tourney structure. With the rebuy you start out with 4500 in chips with 15 min blind increases. Also The Orleans has a good Friday night tourney at 7 PM
psujohn 0
I won't be there on saturday. The noon tourney is like 130 plus a single $50 rebuy. Great structure for a daily though and according to allvegaspoker they average 120 people which is a pretty nice number - not too big, not too small.I've heard the TI room is pretty much dead. I figure I can pop in there when I have a couple hours to kill and head over to MGM or Venetian if I have longer. I'm going with the wife who doesn't gamble at all so I'll be with her for a lot of time.

AcesUp46 0
The afternoon tournaments at the Mirage have a good structure. 30 min levels and 3000 starting chips. $230 buy-in. Avoid the 10/20 game there though, it's a rock garden. As for 1/2 or 2/5 NL, almost all card rooms spread it and play at that level is equally donktastic, so any card room will have good NL action. As for the attractions, when I went to Vegas during the series, I watched "O" and Greg Popovich's Pet Comedy. O was excellent but the tickets are muy expensive at $150. Plus we had to wait in the standby line for 2 hours before the show started to get tickets. Hence, if you really want to watch O, make sure you buy your tickets way ahead of time. Pet Comedy was a ripoff. It's mostly Greg Popovich doing clown tricks like juggling etc, but the cats are really cute. So unless you really really like cats, you'd want to avoid this one. That's all I can advise. Hope you have good luck.PS The Panda Express Chinese takeout beside Harrah's LV brings good luck.
