Charity Poker Game - Second Place Finish!

Recommended Posts

I played in a charity NL game on monday, $50.00 buyin, 76 people and it paid the top 6 places. I came in Second place, this is my best finish ever in a live tournament with more than twenty people. They were raising money for a dealer at the Seneca Niagara Casino who has cancer and i thought it would be nice to particapate. I thought Kevin the dealer who organized the event did a great job!!! The game went a little slow, lots of breaks for drawings and prizes, but very fun.I didn't bring my A game, just went to have fun and hang with some friends. Me and a couple of the guys at my table decided to go all in on the next hand about 5 hands into the tournament. I had 8h 2h and won the hand with a flush. I ended up at the final table about 4 hours later and split 1st thur 4th place with 3 other players (at 3am) I had to get up for work at 7am and the money just was not that important to me other wise i would have finished the game. I was second in chips when we split. Not sure if this is really a second place finish, but feels like it to me.I think they raised almost $4,000.00 dollars for this lady, I wish her luck and good health. I was very impressed with all the winners who generously gave some of their winnings back. Kudos to all!!!!Also Katie, Dee and Denise did a great job setting everything up and organizing the prizes and donations. (sorry if i left anyone out) :club:

It's always nice to make a FT.So was there any cash prizes?
Yes about twenty-five percent of the money went to the prize pool. I made $250.00., but I gave some of it back (all the money finishers did)

congrats and nice job helping someone else
I was just asking because usually they'll compensate the players with some kind of prize like a car or gift cards or a nights stay at a hotel something sweet.
