Wsop Final Table Hypothetical Question

Recommended Posts

OK.. so when they were 3 handed, Jamie Gold was in against.. I forget his name (lets say player #3 since he finished third) anyway, Gold was trying to bluff and showed one of his cards to #3.Norman Chad said that was against the rules and Gold could have gotten a penalty. My question is this....Let's say hypothetically that Gold WAS given a penalty. Let's say it was for 20 minutes. Now let's say that in the very next hand Player #2 eliminates player #3.My question is, do they deal the cards and go through the motions of taking Golds blinds and antes until the time is up or in the interest of time, do they calculate hands per hour and figure out how much money he would lose and just give it to player #2?Just something I wondered about... has someone ever even gotten a penalty in head to head action before?

I believe that they would deal it out and just take the blinds and antes until the penalty was over. And yes, Im sure someone has gotten a penalty while heads uo before.

Yeah, it happen during the 10k PLO event in 05. Vinny Vinh doubled up against some dude, who dropped the F-bomb, and was issued a ten minute penalty. The cards were dealt and Vinny took the blinds for the ten minutes
how awesome would it be if wasicka played real fast heads up and blinded Gold out?
Even if he was given a one hour penalty, and they were playing online with superfast dealing and shuffling, Gold still woulda had huge chip lead

I'm pretty sure Vinh called the floor over in that instance. The other guy was pissed.

My question is this? How come he didn't get a penalty.... You know there had to be a floor person who saw that and should have reacted accordingly. Was it the other players responsibility to call it out. It seemed to me that Gold was pushing that envelope quite a bit during his run in the Main event. My observation was that even with a penalty his run of cards would have bailed him out. Wow even I could have won with that run of cards he had.

Technically that hand should have been dead. But if I was Wasicka I am not sure if I would point that out, because you want him to knock out the other guy!
not really, that's the discretion of the floor. a penalty DEFINITELY should have been given though, that's some bullshit right there. I'm astounded by the crap he got away with.

Every hand I saw he did something wrong that should/could get him in trouble. Oh well. :club:

....uhhhh noit was obvious the Binger didnt have THAT great of a hand and was only considering calling, he wouldnt off been knocked out that hand. And no, the hand should NOT have been automatically declared deadthe rule states that the hand MAY be declared dead, and the player MAY be given a penalty. But to not say anything at all....is just a bigger example of how the WSOP sucked at officiating
