TheSkearnel 0
Anyone watching the final table of the WSOP just saw at the end of the show that they had an ESPN News cut in explaining that Jamie Gold was getting sued. I personally think that ESPN is very classy for doing this. This isn't the greatest thing for poker, and it definitely won't shine well on ESPN, but I for one am glad that they stood up and made sure that everyone was aware of what was going on, instead of just running from it.-Shawn K
XXEddie 0
I also like how they threw in how much the offcials sucked at counting and threw an extra 2 million in chips in
loogie 115
Yeah, but they didn't say anything about Dannenman killing that hooker last year.
phlegm 6
I will reserve all opinions about gold til after I find out his opinions about Bush, gay marriage, the yankees, and the war in iraq.

TheSkearnel 0
Yeah, but they didn't say anything about Dannenman killing that hooker last year.Oh my God, did he really?(sw)Yeah, that too impressed me that ESPN stood up and said there was a chip error. It's better than just pretending it never happened. Just curious for those who are set on hating Jamie Gold, if he makes good on his promise to give half to Leyser, and pays up to Chan, and comes through on everything he said, what would be your opinion of him then? I mean, is it possibly true that he was planning on paying the whole time, and wanted to set up a corporation first?-Shawn K
kmak 0
It takes about 15 minutes to set up a corporation.Notice there was only one brief moment where he was shown without a hat. Guy looks like a weasel. But a rich weasel.

The guy's ethics are certainly questionable, but I gotta say he played an amazing tournament. Beating a field of 8,700 + players is incredible by any standards - you can't do that on luck alone. The guy's ability to f*ck wiht other players is second to none.
showstopper24 0
I saw it and was happy they said that (and was also happy that Lon talked about the two million chip mistake)
gigabit_1 0
when will they break the news that gus hansen got hit by a bus?
JMoney2681 0
I hope he (Gold) decides to take the invite to HSP season 3 and show us all if he can really outplay the top pros. He said in a radio interview that he can outplay anyone and would love to challenge any pro. I can't wait to see season 3.
gigabit_1 0
if u sucked at poker...would you go play with those guys? i think he wont
Vyszion 0
What happened with the 2 million chip mistake, I only listened to the thing about the lawsuit. Was it one person who got the chips? How/When did they enter play?
gigabit_1 0
i think im supposed to say: go try to use the search function....but i think they chipped up an extra 2 million or something stupid like that
EStormOk 0
It was good that Norman Chad talked about how he thought Gold was being inappropriate in talking about his hand and how the TD told them it was ok when he was heads up in a pot. Obviously the TD wasn't watching much, Gold was talking about his hand with others left to act several times.
AcesUp46 0
Acknowledging the chip error was clearly a good move. By letting the issue known to millions of viewers, ESPN has provided a really really strong impetus for Harrahs to improve their procedures so that such a screw up will not happen again in the future. Other televised tourney organizers will take note as well and overall, we can expect better controls from the tourney staff.

Ron_Mexico 4,238
couple of things.I've not no problem with the guy. Seems decent to me. If I caught the unbelievable heater he did, I'm sure I'd come off as arrogant as well.He had a great run of cards, talked people into giving him action. The jury is still out on the rest.that is all. Balloon guy 158
Yeah, but they didn't say anything about Dannenman killing that hooker last year. One hooker and you're branded for life.I have to say I didn't find Gold nearly as repulsive as I was expecting from what's been posted on this site. I get the shows a day later than most so I know what to look for and I think Gold is just a dude. Lucky sure, but he didn't play bad, everytime. He's no Robert Varkoni but who is , really? stan394 0
I downloaded the torrent instead of watching this on TV. The episode didn't include the news clip at the end. So did it happen after they show Gold called his father?
