Espn Does The Right Thing.

Recommended Posts

Anyone watching the final table of the WSOP just saw at the end of the show that they had an ESPN News cut in explaining that Jamie Gold was getting sued. I personally think that ESPN is very classy for doing this. This isn't the greatest thing for poker, and it definitely won't shine well on ESPN, but I for one am glad that they stood up and made sure that everyone was aware of what was going on, instead of just running from it.-Shawn K

Yeah, but they didn't say anything about Dannenman killing that hooker last year.
Oh my God, did he really?(sw)Yeah, that too impressed me that ESPN stood up and said there was a chip error. It's better than just pretending it never happened. Just curious for those who are set on hating Jamie Gold, if he makes good on his promise to give half to Leyser, and pays up to Chan, and comes through on everything he said, what would be your opinion of him then? I mean, is it possibly true that he was planning on paying the whole time, and wanted to set up a corporation first?-Shawn K

I'll still believe he's a colluding butt weasel.

I was curious to watch this after seeing everyone ragging on Jamie Gold. The guy's ethics are certainly questionable, but I gotta say he played an amazing tournament. Beating a field of 8,700 + players is incredible by any standards - you can't do that on luck alone. The guy's ability to f*ck wiht other players is second to none.

I hope he (Gold) decides to take the invite to HSP season 3 and show us all if he can really outplay the top pros. He said in a radio interview that he can outplay anyone and would love to challenge any pro. I can't wait to see season 3.

It was good that Norman Chad talked about how he thought Gold was being inappropriate in talking about his hand and how the TD told them it was ok when he was heads up in a pot. Obviously the TD wasn't watching much, Gold was talking about his hand with others left to act several times.

Acknowledging the chip error was clearly a good move. By letting the issue known to millions of viewers, ESPN has provided a really really strong impetus for Harrahs to improve their procedures so that such a screw up will not happen again in the future. Other televised tourney organizers will take note as well and overall, we can expect better controls from the tourney staff.

Jamie's lawyer: "We don’t believe Mr. Leyser is entitled to any money as a matter of law."Doesn't sound much like they planned on paying the whole time.

couple of things.I've not no problem with the guy. Seems decent to me. If I caught the unbelievable heater he did, I'm sure I'd come off as arrogant as well.He had a great run of cards, talked people into giving him action. The jury is still out on the rest.that is all.

One hooker and you're branded for life.I have to say I didn't find Gold nearly as repulsive as I was expecting from what's been posted on this site. I get the shows a day later than most so I know what to look for and I think Gold is just a dude. Lucky sure, but he didn't play bad, everytime. He's no Robert Varkoni but who is , really?

If Jamie Gold ****s with people it's collusion, when Daniel does it he's using table talk to get information. Please understand the rules before you post again.
