Trouble At The Casino

Recommended Posts

im playing 1/2 today at my local casino, im on the big blind and the limp parade goes around, comes to me i look and see i have A K suited, and as i look up the dealer is already killing one card and has the cards half way in the air about to deal the flop, and i go WAIT!, u never gave me my option, she didnt even look at me as a matter of fact, and so this guy starts freakng out on me, calling me a cheater, and even got out of his seat and started yelling at me, and i told him that she didnt even look at me, and he wouldnt shut up, then he started turning beat red and coming closer and closer to me, i honestly thought this guy was gonna swing on me, and i told him he better step back, so the floor and everybody comes running over and i explain what happened and the dealer agreed that she didnt give me my option, and they ask the guy to leave, and of course my ace king didnt hold up, all in a days work, but maybe its just me, but the matter of fact that im 18 its almost like eveyone there gives little respect cuz im always the youngest one, anyone else have this age problem?

See what I mean, just trying to ask a legit question here, and you guys just worry about my grammar skills, you need to spend less time on this forum and actually play poker.

ok, you want a serious answer about your situation, that's fine. It sucks that people think they can get away with acting like that in a casino. I don't think it has to do with anything with your age actually, I think the internet poker boom has really made it easy to berate people online and it's now translatign slightly into live games. It's a shame and I wish people would act nicer, but you can't choose your opponents.Well, I guess you can, but you can't choose how they act.

if one of them limped with a PP then your AK wasnt ahead. JS
Not according to barry greenstein who makes the point if its limped to you in late position pre flop holding AK you may actually be favourite due to the fact if anyone has an ace or a king they are more likely to raise and therefore you have live cards and your opponents may have their cards killed off.

You know what you should do to all these jerks that get down on you because of your age? You should live longer than them. Then you can go to the cemetery, point at their tombstones, and yell, "Face!"

I've had the same dealer incompetence happen to me and I'm a lot older than you. In the future, try to stay focused on talking or yelling at the dealer and not another player. You seem to have done well to stop the action in time.Calling for a floor person, if things don't go right, is another option.

I actually joined this site so I could reply to this (lame, I know). But I would have to agree that age has nothing to do with it. People have taken the attitude that yelling and screaming is ok because that's what makes great tv. You did the right thing in having staff come over and address the issue. While I enjoy live, tv and poker rooms, this poker boom has brought out alot of people who don't seem to be able to control themselves, or their bankroll. When they blow up at me I just remember that they are paying my salary so I can afford to laugh it off.

OMFG I finally found a thread that TheCorporation hasn't posted on. Must be a full moon or sumthing
Hey there jealous 52 year old guy, nice contribution. Anyway, back to the OP's question...I sometimes feel the same way about the younger players not being given the respect at the poker tables as well.
