I never finished the art of war, but over half way through, it still seemed to be focusing on knowing yourself. Knowing yourself is a skill. If you can't recognize your weaknesses, you can't improve except by dumb luck. If you can't recognize your own weaknesses, how can you recognize your opponents' weaknesses? How can you even know if you can really beat the game if you don't know yourself well enough? Numbers fluctuate over time, you must know while you are losing and winning. Therefore, the most important skill is knowing yourself.Robert Kiosaki calls it gambling not on the cards, but gambling that you will win, in metaphorically transposed from investing.

Improvable skill?I'd say being able to read an opponents style and be able to narrow the range of holdings based on previous actions.

Depends a lot on what exactly we're talking about.If we're talking about the skill a winning player needs to make it a successful career then money management is going to be up there.If we're talking about how to become a winning player then self-control/patience (which are closely related) is very important.If we're talking about what makes a great player I'd have to throw out - the ability to recall and analyze past hands. This is probably the single biggest reason that Doyle is such a winning player and so well respected among his peers.

I think that you need more balls in cash games if you are playing big limits.

The single most important skill that can be improved is controlling pot size. Once you can control pot sizes the game becomes so much easier.

You should just move straight to "getting oral" while MTT skill. You can just rest the laptop on her head, problem solved. Get used to looking up and down pretty fast though, it's definitly an aquired skill.
