I Was Screwed Out Of A Tourny (not A Bad Beat)

Recommended Posts

I've noticed in this and other threads/responses of asking the casino to check the cameras to help remedy a situation.Does this ever happen? Has anyone asked a casino to check the tapes and had them check the tape?I only ask, because I've heard stories where people have asked and been told no.To the OP, it sounds like you got royally screwed.
It's a complete pain in the *** to check the tapes for the poker rooms. Security is watching the table games and that's what they are trained for. Requesting a review of the tape is basically telling them you are 100% sure this happened and you are serious about following up on doing what's right. The next step is to ask for the phone number to gaming. Most gaming regulations require tapes to be made on any gaming transaction including tournements.
Never under any circumstances let the dealer take your cards until you have a pot you won in front of you
truthalso, always protect your cards.

I read about a guy at the Commerce, in a cash game, who had just rebought. I forget the number, it was like $500. A couple hands later, after not winning a hand, he gets all in and wins, and he magically has $700 in front of him. He had obviously palmed $200 and got them in play.Somebody called the floor and told them it was impossible for him to have $700 when he only bought in for $500.They went to the tape, and came back and took the cheat to the security room.
I remember hearing this story a while ago. Stupid Mother ******.

Playing in a local live tournament, my buddy is in the SB and we'll call her nOOb is in the BB.Well she's so nOOb she mucks her cards in the BB. Well being the savvy guys we are we start saying, "she mucked, sweet, take it down dude". Well, the dealer politely grabs her cards and says, "ma'am you're in the big blind" while pushing her cards to her.Her cards hit the muck. They were clearly dead. So we call over the floor thinking they were going to call the cards dead and say sorry. No, the floor asks her what she had, she replies, "I had a king and a queen". The floorman takes the two cards on top and makes her hand live! The worst part is, she goes on to make the final table, while trying to muck KQ in the BB to no raise. I love poker.

that exact scenario happened in the same tournament I was screwed in. He never said his hand he just reached in to the side of the muck (his cards were barely touching the muck) and grabbed them back. The dealer stopped the action and looked around to see if a floor was nearby and then looked at us to see if we looked like we would tell. He let the player have them. I was fine with that as I first to act with 3 players in the pot and a none scarry flop hit. I bet 4 times bb and took it down with k high.Dealer then said to the bb player "thank you so much for not winning that hand."

I hate bad dealers. I should become one just so I can say, I was the perfect dealer. Then proceed to lose all my tips at 3/6.
