Please, Only Give Advice/rulings If You Know

Recommended Posts

*bump*
I wish everyone would quit PMing me to be the only person to answer all ruling questions. I am of the "there are no stupid questions, only stupid people" camp. But if everone will send me $3 then I will agree to be the 2 people needed to answer all your questions, no matter how little they matter to me. and by everyone I mean all 26,531 of you. If you have a joke account you will need to pay multiple times.Deal with it.

How great is it that this post links to an old thread from our good friend Chrozzo that:A - Uses perfect sentence structure, spelling, punctuation, and even paragraphs...not a single indication of alcohol poisoning whatsoever...andB - Features not a single use of the word "hi" anywhere?Best bump ever. Not close.

Still not one actual casino named that allows the misinterpeted 50% rule.
Mirage. Or at least they did.And you're correct; they do so because they misread Robert's Rules.

Wow, I went away for alittle while and I come back to find people creating threads about other threads in which they claimed to be right, but are actually wrong. What is this world coming to, and 13 cards, stop creating threads pointing out how stupid you are. 15 years in and I can tell you that this "rule" gets played out many different ways in many differnt casinos. Also, he wasn't raising a guy who had no money, he was raising the 3rd player out of the pot.

http://www.pokertda.com/There's an RTF word processing document or a pdf file to be downloaded, but neither of these is complete. Most of my knowledge is from playing WSOP, WSOP circuit, and WPT tournaments for the last 1 1/2 years or so. I have corrected dealers when they have made mistakes and I've had floorpeople thank me for explaining the rules to dealers so that they are easily understood. It bothers me that rules are sometimes applied inconsistently. I spoke with a WPT tournament director a few days ago about an online resource or a book with all of the rules and he said that one does not exist. When I asked him if the WSOP and WPT could put together a universal guide, he shook his head and said that the two do not talk to each other.
LOL....could you please assist me? What do you beleive the answer to be?I am in the process of contacting as many B&M casinos and poker rooms in North America as I can, starting with to request copies of each of their "house rules". I, of course, have a copy of the Niagara Casinos house rules, and several other locations from various cities in Canada and the USA. I am going to do a rule-by-rule comparison to find inconsistencies and then try to contact those rooms that seem to have/enforce any "out-of-left-field" rules. It has been my experience that most poker room managers are more than willing to have discussions regarding the enforcement of their rules.
baahahahahahahahahahaha wow the two of you could be the biggest tools ever. im glad you guys have the free time to go to casinos and correct their errors instead of doing something beneficial for the world.

PF? Pokerforum.ca?Bonehead? Bonehead enough to have worked as a supervisor in this business for over 12 years, helped run two very successful WPT events and had the exclusive job of making any and all rulings at the 2007 NAPC. You're right. Bonehead.
Dude, you're right - I'm sorry...you're the best 'supervisor' here at fcp! What was i thinking?!? You coming on to pokerforum and getting banned by being a complete tool obv shows how excellent of a supervisor you are! :club: BTW nice 'website' - i learned, and loved the UNDER CONSTRUCTION print!! :D:D

Agreed, it is very much "buyer beware" here. What I am suggesting is designating one or two Veterean posters/players to research and make "official FCP answer" posts to the many ruling questions, not just incorrectly quote Robert's Rules.
Wow, this is getting good. lol. So please explain how the "Veteran players" will be chosen. Then when this happens people will start new posts saying that the Veteran players are wrong...
I believe in this instance the reason everyone was giving "wrong" advice is because there is no right answer. Each casino has their own rules and regulations, and even if they have those rules, you could run into an idiot floor manager who has no idea what he's doing an overrule the rule.
Very trueEdit: Ahhh, I see this was bumped by cubs. Nice bump.

Think of the situation like this, as you do not believe he can raise the person who is just calling the raise. I raise to 5 and I'm all in at a 1/2 table, the player to my left calls, the next player has every right to reraise, not me because I'm all in for 2.5 times the BB, but whoever limped on the 5.... Get it...and you're a floorman???

Another unprovoked personal attack. Again, where is the ban-stick?
OP, it's not unprovoked, it's your condecending posts.Provoke discussion, don't tell us how important you are.The replies might be better.TY.

Your scenario is very simple. The BB will ALWAYS have an option to raise any limper PRE-FLOP!!Please, re-read the scenario presented in the OP/thread. If you have any further questions, please put them in the proper context, PM me and I will be glad to answer you.Get it?And yes, I am a floorman.
You are a floorman, so does that make you holier than thou? You come off as someone arrogant with the attitude of "my opinion is right no matter what." Instead of responding to all the people who take offense at how you acted in this thread, how about just stop reading this thread? How about just ignore all the posts you want to respond to with classless and/or cocky answers.Quit ruining your already-damaged image some more.
