if you are looking for a cheap hotel......Sahara would work....plus it has a decent buffet, and the monorail system is located in the hotel. The only negative about that hotel is the distance from everything else, but then again....thats what the monorail system is for. If you are looking for location than Imperial palace is your best bet (they also have a monorail station near hotel). Go to websites and sign up to receive email promotions from hotels/casinos..(i.e. imperial palace.com). Try the MGM Mirage group hotels....MGM Grand, NYNY, and TI. From experience these are the most affordable of the MGM Mirage brand. Also, when you go, sign up for an MGM mirage players card, and if you want to play some machines, play there. I get deals from the MGM grand for 69 bucks a night weekday 89 on weekends, same with TI, they always throw in $50 dollar food credit too.

I'll be there next week!! I'm staying at Mandalay for free but when I do pay IP is a great deal. Middle of everything just don't eat there. Food there is unedible.
LOL -- I think you mean inedible, but yeah, there's any number of street vendors with rickety carts that are going to serve you better crust and kibble than IP.

You could consider the Tropicana. It is priced in the range you are looking at. It is surrounded by decent hotels w/poker rooms within walking distance. (MGM Grand, Excalibur,Luxor,New York New York, Monte Carlo)Oh, and by the way...there is a hotel/casino next door named...um...Hooters. Stay away from Circus Circus. That place is on the North end of the strip and a long walk to other hotels, unless you want to walk across the street to the Riviera(what a dive). One other suggestion go to a site like Travelocity, orbitz, Expedia and search for hotels by price. Once you see one you are interested in goto the Internet site of that particular hotel to book it. This will save you $5 TO $10 per night because those hotel search sites add a small fee onto the price. Many hotels actually have special promotions and lowest price guarantees on their official sites that are not available elsewhere.

DN's down in Florida, stay at his place.
Still waiting for Patty or FCP_Info to extend the invite. What, you own DN a couple times heads up and suddenly you're not welcome in Vegas? I definitely appreciate all your suggestions. I've eliminated all places too far from walking distance to my hotel. (See my previous posts about being able to out-whiskey DN's brother) (Jameson or Crown Royal)Thanks again,Czario0

Harrahs is a great choice. It is in the dead center of the strip and has monorail access. Rooms are pretty cheap and are all in pretty good shape. Very nice piano and outside bar and you can gamble at all the Harrahs properties and earn comps.

Fukkit!Stay at the Wynn. :club:
nice...seriously though, Harrah's is a decent choice... MGM is good... Luxor's ok... Monte Carlo is good...personally, I don't like the high dollar (Wynn, Bellagio, etc..) or the low-rent (downtown, Circus-Circus, etc..)... I shoot for the middle...I like to be able to play where I stay, so I don't have to worry about late night cabs and stuff like that... just my preference though... YMMV
