BuffDan 0
Yeah, I like giving up EV too... If losing a hand has such an impact on your mental health, you probably shouldnt be playing.Ok, just for the record I wasn't talking about myself, I was just trying to find some way in which the whole "play higher to avoid the suckouts" rationale had some shred of validity. I was not saying I agree with it in an way, I was just trying to play devil's advocate. But even given the angle I was trying to argue, I can concede that being in a game where you can make more money is still probably better for your mental health anyways. 200_Motels 0
I find that reading a good poker book usually helps regain my confidence after a bad streak or beat.
grinningimm 0
Two books that helped me specifically with taking beats and staying off tilt were "The Tao of Poker" (2003, Adams Media), and "Zen and the Art of Poker" (1999, Plume), both by Larry W. Phillips.

ohan76 0
Well, what do you do when every time the money goes in you are at least a 60% favorite and suckout every time? Happens to me all the time. I have a new theory, whatever % I should be to win is actually my opponents win %. Has anyone ever gone through an extended streak of suckouts? Happens mostly to me in live play. I think I personally must have bad luck. Its one thing to be a coin flip, but domination? All the time? 3 times tonight at my buddy's house.

ohan76 0
That would definitely explain a lot. But why oh why would it happen so much more in live play? That's the only part I don't get. God likes computers? So then I get a free pass?

God likes computers? So then I get a free pass?60% isn't enough of an "edge" online since online poker is rigged, you need to have your opponent as a 4 to 1 dog to win 50% of the time. Sorry, it's just the way online poker works.
