Sick, sick sick.I won $600 on the Steelers bet because I hedged. I then bet $140 on the money line for Ohio State on Saturday and won.I then bet a $200 parlay on the Saints to win and the Eagles to cover and profitted $774 from that. So far for September= 5 hours worked (not including the sweat from rooting on the teams) +$2.5k.Good start to the month for me.

I think I got the perfect scare with Party Blackjack tonight. Lately, I've been playing short sessions where I buy-in for $1000, and play for $10-$25 a hand for a while before eventually jacking it up so that I get ahead a little and get out.Even though I know (both intellectually and through experience) that all these small wins eventually lead to one big loss, I've been plugging away anyway, with the frequency going from once a month to once a week to every other time I turn on PartyPoker.Well tonight, I was dicking around for smallish amounts which got bigger, and basically because I was enjoying playing and didn't want to quit right away, I really didn't aim for any amount to get out. I half-heartedly said I wanted to get up $40 to round off my account to an even $9000, but I kept playing even when I got there. Well, I never got up much anyway, but I quickly dug myself a hole, and increasing bets didn't seem to help much.I got down $1000 and told myself that one more $1000 (for a total of $2000) was the most I'd allow myself to lose. I got all the way down to $200 (betting up to $200 a hand) before I made a comeback. I tried to get myself to quit if I got within $1000 or $500 of even, but of course, you can't quit when you're winning unless you actually reach even. Long story short, after running up to -$500 and back down to -$1600, I finally did make it back to even. I am now officially declaring myself done with Party Blackjack forever. The next time I play blackjack, it's going to be in a casino, where I have the 0.5% long-term edge, not the house. As far as +EV gambling goes, I've had a couple losing sessions playing Stud lately, but nothing worth worrying about. Probably -$1500 altogether. Took another crack at NLHE cash games the other night too, and won half a buy-in, but I still don't think I have the mental strength to make it any kind of regular thing. Stud suits me a lot better when it comes to cash games. Oh, and I had a frustrating week sports betting, where I started out 6-0 and finished the week 11-7, but still lost $600 because I lost my two biggest plays as well as a teaser and a parlay.

Sick, lol. Delete the Party BJ forever.

Iggy,Coming from someone who has lost his roll more than once to Party BJ, and is defintely a gamblaholic (recovering), but you need to stop gambling.Party BJ is like massive -EV. I won't even play on Party anymore because I'm exactly like you. "Start out with $5 bets, just to round my account off", then I'm betting $200 a hand with my last $400. I've been there. It's not pretty.I won't even start on the sports betting because I know that it is possible for it to be +EV, so I'll let that one slide. But Party BJ is the devil. You need to stop!- Zach

You must have missed this part.

I know it sounded somewhat facetious, but I meant it. I'm done forever. I went to hide blackjack on the menu, and while I know that's pretty easy to get around, I really don't think I'll be tempted in the near future. I'm all done, really! And my sports betting is pretty studied, I'm not worried about that. I went something like 45-30 on college football last year, and I've been posting a lot in the sports betting forum on 2+2 lately trying to refine my picks. I probably won't be able to make as much on it as I do on poker, but I certainly don't see it being a "leak".

Down Down and UpIt’s been a ruff week, blew off a good chunk of my roll, and had to regroup.Thought that wpex and the 100% rake back would be the way to go. Thought it would be a rock garden but the games are very, very LAGish lots of three bets pre-flop and it took a while to adapt. So the old BR kept going down but has now bounced back, grinding and helped by an MTT final table finish.Wpex seems to have more limit than NL action so that was another adjustment t make. I do think this will be the best way to go for now. Just the RB restored a good part of my BR but I’m still down for September.

nah im still busto from the first idiotic move. ive put some small amounts on but i generally build it up only to lose it. Just yesterday i lost a couple 200 dollar pots to 3 outers on the riverfortunately i jumped up to 600nl and pulled a massive suckout in order to stay up for the day...
Not trying to be a d*ck or anything, but didnt you just have a post a few up that said you need to stay within your bankroll? And then in your last post you moved up limits after losing a few 200 dollar pots? Just doesn't seem like good bankroll management..

Wpex is weird.Tons of super retarded aggressive preflop play. It's amazing how many times ive seen a limp/raise (limp/cap a few times) by some guy with something completley random. Ive never seen so many limpraises - and i only played 500 hands so far at 2/4. Did pretty well. Up about $50 plus another $50 from rb. I hate jumping into a site and playing my regular stakes or id play in the 5/10 which didnt look much tougher. Until you rack of a few winning sessions at the new site, each loss feels so much more significant than it should for me.I think im going to stick with wpex for my daytime play from now on. Absolutes games are too sparse during hte day. For the night, ill make sure to maintain elite status though.

You nailed it on the head.Takes a while to adapt but these games are very beatable, and that type of play jacks up the RB a lot. Heck I just started there mid last week and got $300 RB today.

I've been running so badly this month, I don't even want to post my results. At least not until the 18th or so, that way I can put up something decent because this month has been a terror. 200BB swings hurt bad, and while I did grind it all back, I am nearly even this month, which sucks big donkey balls. I will be back soon, with my update.
