NicksDad1970 0
512 people tourney down to 7. I have a lil more than avg with 110k.Blinds are 8k - 16k chip leader (about 320k) limps UTG folds to me I have AKd and I raise to 37500. folds to CL who calls.Flop is 2-5-7 with 1 diamond. He checks and I bet 40k. He raises me all in.I start cussing myself knowing I'm pot committed. I had only played about 50 hands with the person. But I had a gut feeling he had me dominated when he raised me knowing he I would be pot committed.I had about 17k left and folded. No doubt the dumbest move I made all night. So I should have called unless I put him on AA,KK, or a set right?

throwemaway 0
Push preflop..antes included, you have an M of about 3-4ish..Defintely time to push big, but vulnerable hands like AK If you dont do that, then you must must must push the flop...You just left yourself with 1 BB..Thats awful

NicksDad1970 0
Makes sense pushing preflop. I guess if he had anything less than AA, KK, or a set I still have 6 outs. Unless he had something like A7 (I wouldn't call that much if I was him but I'm tight). Then I'd be pretty much down to 3 outs. BTW - I only play on FCP and I know how to check the current hand or previous hand history. But is there a way that it's automatically stored on your comp or anything?Oh ya ....thanks for the advice. Some simple things apparently escape me. I should have thought more about what I was going to do if I totally missed after the flop. If I didn't push preflop should I have pushed after the flop? I guess it's better than committing the majority of the rest of my chips.

I guess it's better than committing the majority of the rest of my chips.I expect you will get unanimous input to push pre-flop. This is for three reasons:The blinds and antes are large in relation to your stack. You don';t have time to wait for hands to come along, and AK is about as strong as they come. If you raise all-in , you have "folding equity". Your raise represents 1/3 of the limper's stack, so he has to think long and hard about calling you. You can often win the pot right there. AK prefers to see all 5 board cards Since you did not push pf, you needed to push the flop, BTW - I only play on FCP and I know how to check the current hand or previous hand history. But is there a way that it's automatically stored on your comp or anything? From the main lobby, make sure "Enable Statistics" is checked in the Statistics menu.
NicksDad1970 0
thx - Not that it makes a difference. But there weren't any antes. You would think there would be and I wish there was. In B&M tourneys they always have em.

NicksDad1970 0
you made it to 7 ? Yes sir, and the night before with 600+ I made it to 17ish.I've also won 7 or 8 with 125-500+ people. Came in 2nd in one with 1900ish people. So I doubt I'm as dumb as you may think I am :)One of my best qualities (IMHO) is that I have a lot to leaarn. Or maybe it's that I'm unorthidox (I'm pretty sure I butchered the spelling of that):)But I can also donk em off with the best of em.

Actuary 3
So I doubt I'm as dumb as you may think I am the dumb ones don't know when they've played a hand so eh... unorthodoxically as this.my frustration at failing to advance far in these MTT's found a target in you. NicksDad1970 0
I am taking pain meds so forgive me if I do'nt make sense. But I really have been fairly successful in tourneys. Live and the internet. But for the life of me I swear I don't know what kind of player I am. I guess it doesn't matter but I wish someone who knew what they were talking about could watch me and give me some advice. Then again that might really screw me up. I know I could play better but I don't know where I need the most improvement.Last night I was chip leader with 175 left out of the 500+ and I was going to ask for people to rail me but I thought I'd play like a total donk and at least jinx myself if I asked.
