When Is It Time To Sit Up And Leave A Table?

Recommended Posts

Im a small stakes poker player playing in either $.05-.10NL or $0.10-0.25NL.If you are reading this and you fall under these stakes of low limits, at whatpoint of your session do you decide to get up and leave? The max to sit in with for a $0.10-$0.25 is $25. What do you guys call a profitable session? Cashing out 3x the amount you sat in with? We spend hours at tables playingpoker and during those hours your up $60. Your in a hand with someoneand he bad beats you, so now your even. You have the exact amount of $ when you sat in. 1. Do you guys play for X amount of hours?2. Decide to leave the table when you triple up? (or a designated amount)3. Or when someone puts you on TILT?

At the moment I'm playing the 25NL tables at Party and am leaving the tables when I've played enough hands to qualify for the Summer Sizzler. I don't care whether I'm sitting at a juicy table because 3 / 4 hours is enough. However, what I normally do, whenever I've doubled my stake is set a stop loss.e.g Get to $50, I'll leave the table $40. Get to $75, I'll leave at $50, $100 leave at $75 etc.I will not get involved with a stack bigger than mine once I'm above $50 unless I'm convinced I have the nuts.Erimus

You should leave the table when;- You're on tilt, as in not playing your best game.- The two donks have left the table and you're sitting with a bunch of good players.- When you're very tired, bored or playing scared (the same as not playing your best game). These points applies to micro limit player, medium stake players and high stakes player.

This is a good post. Personally, I like having as much as I can on the table, so I can bust the bigger stacks, and win more. So, I don't like to leave after a certain amount, or certain time limit if I'm playing well, and have a big stack.

Get up when you're truly not playing, but rather, just protecting your winnings. Also never say, "1 more orbit, after button, blinds, etc". You force yourself to play hands, and you dont play relaxed. I never knew a time when I said "last orbit", and won a significant amount of money. I do remember the times, Ive lost profit, and then proceeded to remain sitting at the table for a few more hrs.

If you have trouble getting up because your either up or down, then a time limit wouldn't be out of order. You have to know when it's time to quit and time to keep playing.I usually only keep playing if I know i'm playing well, not by my results.

Same, until last night...Was gonna leave when the maniac busted, so I was playing my free hands... Then, picked up AA with about $300 behind on a 100 NL table, and ran it into another player's KK with about the same stack.. won a pretty huge pot. :DPoint of the story is that it doesn't matter. If you are playing well, play to the blinds, if not, then quit immediately.

Not orginal thought here but here goes. If you are winning, you probabaly are playing at the right kind of table. Keep playing till you break 'em. Unless however, the players keep changing on you which happens a lot at micro tables. I find it better for me to get up and stretch about every 1/2 hour. I usually clears my head long enough to make a good decision about leaving or playing.
