My Disasterous Vegas Vacation

Recommended Posts

Bro, you are crazy. First and Foremost, never tell your girl you lost. Make something up man. Your friend went bust and you have to lend him some dough. Secondly, How could you rob your girl the entry into the womans event. You lost $1500 , Big Deal. Suck it up. If you can't afford to lose $1500. sorry to say you should stick to your reserve casino's and never go to vegas again. That was a bad move bro, you might have robbed your fiance a chance of a lifetime.PS. BlackJack, Statistically gives you the best odds to win if you want to play against the house??Ps II. Don't Gamble with money you can't afford to lose.Peace

Well I'm the finace.... and trust me, he's got a zillion great qualities about him, one blow up on the BJ table isn't going to make or break our relationship! I think he wanted to be the "hero"... double up make some money, and shine.. nothing wrong with that, just went about it wrong. He's a great guy, and I love him a million! In regards to me being a better poker player, and him needing to commit suicide.. ack... I've learned so much about poker from him and need him! He learned his lesson, didn't put us in the poorhouse or anything like that, and we are alive to enjoy another day! There aren't alot of men that do have the "stones" to bet like he did... some might say it was idiotic.. but if he had been successful.. all the onlookers woulda walked away saying.. "WoW that guy has some huge ones"... I would have been none the wiser.. he would have had all his money back... and his buddy woulda had alot of story to tell when he came back. Would he have learned one of the most valuable lessons of Evil Blackjack?? Nah.. that woulda come about another day! So either way it's win win, he learned and we can stay clear of the BJ table and let someone else learn their lessons:)Love you Jimmy!

1 I can go to vegas whenever i Want ... I wasnt playing with money that I couldnt afford to lose , otherwise I wouldnt have been there. The goal was to come home with money ... She could have played in the ladies event, because of her remaining bank roll ,and the winnings we took off the top and tucked away. We left because it was detrimental to my confidence and after doing something like that , it left me emotionally drained. At that point , if I were to continue to play why dig myself a deeper hole ... leaving was a good choice.

LIsten, No one is questioning your relationship. THats great that she loves you and would stick with you even if you went Broke. The only problem here is you only lost $1500. This is chump change to even the lowest bankrolls in Vegas. You acted as though you lost your house, entire savings, kids college Tuition. Get my Point. You should have gone back to the hotel and crashed out, drank or had wild sex? Anything to get your mind off it. If this thing Totally Disrupted your confidence then you have ask yourself, should I find a new hobby? Anyway, Let it go and move on. Ps. always have a plan B when you go on TILT.PsII, Your friend is a not a true Boy, he should have given you half the money you lost and convince you to stay in VEGAS BABY!

Jim,You are truly a very fortunate man to have a great lady like that walking side by side with you. NO sarcasm! Great story, glad you had great friends to share the ups and downs with. I go to Atlantic City by myself as my wife has no desire to set foot in a casino so I envy you in a good way that you are fortunate to be able to go with friends and a supportive lady.Good luck to both of you, sounds like you are on the right track to a long and happy marriage!

Yes they did question the relationship.. that's been put to bed now though I think. I didn't say I'd stick with him if he went broke.. if he displayed continuous behaviors around losing money recklessly with no regard to me or our family.. he'd be kicked to the curb.. this was one incident where he learned a valuable lesson and it didn't make or break our relationship. Only lost $1500... we went with $1500 each.. so that was alot considering how much we were willing to lose in the first place... Chump change smump change.. it was what we went to vegas with to have a good time, play some poker and enjoy our trip. Definitely not what we went to come away millionaires, but enough to have a good time. I would never go to Vega$ with any amount I wouldn't be able to lose. We did go back to the hotel, and have wild sex and drink.. we were just ready to go after that... he felt bad, felt stupid and we only left a lil bit before our scheduled departure, so wasn't a huge deal! I don't think it totally disrupted his confidence.. he's a very confident man, however it was a lil jolt of OMFG WHY did I DO THAT DUMB THING!!! We've all done dumb things before, and they make yah feel like **** when you come to realize it. A new hobby??? never.. he's a talented poker player, he has an amazing strategic mind, he's a chess champion, a counterstrike champion, and now it's his time to become a poker champ! Daniel if you read any of this... Jim Bagwell, remember it, he's coming for you! :club: P.S. I am in love and very confident in my baby! No need to flame me:)

I was a big blackjack fan in the early-mid 90's. Before the poker explosion, when your only choice was sitting at a poker table at the Mirage with a bunch of old school ringers.I'm so glad almost all of the casino in Vegas have finally opened decent poker rooms. That's the only game I'll ever play now. +EV rules, blackjack doesn't!Very rarely I'll throw the bones, craps rules as far a social games is concerned, it's a fun way to blow off steam and the easiest game to play when you're drunk and having a good time. Dollar yo!Stay away from blackjack, in the long run you'll always lose. Stick to poker.Your betting (i.e. chasing) strategy was very f*****-up! That's the exact mentality the casinos pray for in a player, because the odds are in the casinos favor 3 out of 5 times. They made what would amount to 1 to 2 weeks of "table rake" (playing 24 hours a day) off of you in less than 10 minutes!?!

Hey Easy, Or Essi, Sorry I forgot what your nic was. Listen, First and foremost you should never have to Stick up for your man on a website. Kinda makes him look like a wuss. Secondly, ITS ONLY $1500)). Get over it. The man had one bad run on the blackjack table. Tell him it's Ok and you only live once and let him play poker for the rest of the trip. Also you should have played in the womans wsop. I mean if you are as good as he makes you out to be you might have scored huge and made him feel alot better about dumping a measely $1500. Now I'm sorry BUt I am assuming you guys are around my age 29? I assume that $1500 shouldn't disrupt your livelihood to any extent that your boyfriend would cut his vacation short and be affraid to tell you about. Anyway, Live and learn and next time bring a bigger Bankrol to Vegas.

If you read her response she pretty much explained it all. Nothing wrong with her coming here to defend him. Doesn't make him look like a "wuss" at all, it makes her look very good to be backing up her man and makes them look good that they support each other. The key is for them to act just like that after they have been together for 5, 10, 15 plus years!

I didn't realize I was defending him, he's a big boy can take care of himself, I was just adding my two cents. It's my fourth post already, I'm on my way to becoming a Forum Troll... WOOHOOO!

Easy Blackjack strategy:win 2 in a row, increase your bet ... win 2 more in a row, increase again. If you lose, go back to the min bet.don't EVER increase your bet when you are on a losing streak.Very simple if you are disciplined enough. The idea is to maximize profits when winning and minimize losses when you're losing.

very good post. i've had similar experiences. BUT HERE'S A WARNING TO ALL OF YOU IN CASE YOU DECIDE TO PLAY BLACKJACK AGAIN!!!THESE DOUBLE UP STRATEGIES DO NOT WORK. I HAVE READ ABOUT 5 OR 6 BLACKJACK BOOKS AND THE ONLY LEGITAMATE STRATEGIES ARE CARD COUNTING, SHUFFLE TRACKING, HOLE CARDING, ETC. ALL PROGRESSIVE BETTING SYSTEMS ARE A FRAUD!!!!!READ ''BLACKBELT IN BLACKJACK'' BY ARNOLD SNYDER.

Since there are so many people watching and or chiming in on this topic I am going to temporarily hi-jack the thread for a good cause.POKERHave you all either emailed and or written letters to your Senator's regarding the bill that has already passed the house that would make it much, much tougher for us all to play this game?I assume there is probably a thread or many threads about this here but I generally only check the main forum so sorry to put this here but it's important enough that we all make our voices heard that I will risk the flaming to add it here too.Okay resume the regular topic.
