Actuary 3
Not sure what youre looking for that isnt in my first post in the thread. for him not to call he would have to narrow your range to AA, KK, AKnot sure you addressed the impact if both players call.
gobears 0
JJ is a call for the reasons aboveIt's easy to talk yourself out of the call if you think that AK, AA, KK, QQ are villain's range. Oh, I only have a 25% chance for a coinflip and I'm dominated 75% of the time. However, like Coper pointed out, way more ways to make AK or AQ then the PP's.That same situation happened to me in a Sat yesterday and I called with the jacks. Other guy had JJ also. copernicus 0
not sure you addressed the impact if both players call.My bad...got lost in where we were in the thread. I need to know UTGs stack to put him on a range of calling hands. Since its early in this tourney it may well be about the same, so going with that, it makes pushing a bit more desirable with AK, since you are adding a hand that you are more likely to dominate than you are likely to be behind to.However, the calling range is narrow enough for both players that this scenario isnt going to happen very often...certainly less than 10% of the time. So its contribution to the overall EV of pushing has got to be relatively minor.
blakheart 3
The debate over the AK play is interesting, becuase I see this play all the time. I think reraising with AK is a big mistake here. AK has position and should use that position. See a flop and react to the flop.
fckthis 0
IMO, the math shouldnt be a huge issue here. Its assessing whether or not you're dominated. Chips=power in tourney poker, so making close decisions like this one, pay off, when you're still in and have a better oppurtunity. Its okay to fold the best hand sometimes. krup24 0
I like a smaller reraise pf. The $50 reraise is a little to large. I like a raise to $30 or so. This makes it a cakewalk of a fold after the button pushes.I can't believe we have any hand button has dominated. Its either a flipper or we are hunting for 2 cards.
