Pokerpayday.com Legit Or Scam?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering has anyone ever heard of them? They sponsor poker players to play in live and online events. I filled out there little test gave them my address and stuff and got contacted in about a month in a half later them telling me that they are willing to offer me a 1 year 6k contract to play in online and live tournaments. The catch is I got to send them a 99 dollar processing fee for the contract. Today I'm gonna decide if i do it or not and I was wondering if anyone had information about the company check it out www.pokerpayday.com

Everything is a scam, life is a scam. You get born, grow up, waste time in school. Then you spend the next 40-50 years working some mundane job but somehow feel you're actually a value to society. Then after years and years of service they will boot you and replace you with someone younger and then all you have to look forward to is death. Go life!

anytime anyone wants you to pay something to win a 'prize', its a scam. if it was legit theyd handle those costs or theyd deduct it from your 'contract'.

Exactly correct! You could ask them to deduct the processing fee from the $6k, but they won't do it.Scam alert! Scam alert! Scam alert! Scam alert! Scam alert! Scam alert! Scam alert! Scam alert! 100% Scam. Ask a friend who doesn't even play poker to apply and I guarantee you they will get the same "offer." Run away as fast as you can, then please report them. You can report them here: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.sta...Z_ORG_CODE=PU01Best of luck. (BTW, Good on you for having the sense to ask others what they think before sending a check. You just saved yourself a hundred bucks.) :club:

Man it's hard to tell I mean i did some reasearch and got good reviews from players that are sponsored but got negative from the people that haven't even signed with them. I think it's a big oppourtunity for aspiring players. i know that if they offer u a contract everyone get's offered the same contract and basically the top players are going to get contract extensions.

I just found this on the website----Our Program----Our program is designed to benefit players that are either new to the game or do not have means to play at the level they wish. Big-game/stakes players may not benefit nearly as much from the program as low-mid stakes players. The higher you move up in limits/buy-ins, the less you can benefit from our program. ----Contract Value----Initially, the value of the contract is calculated with a few things in mind. First, obviously the tournament buy-ins, second, it encompasses all fees associated with player travel, such as hotel stay, promotional materials etc. and finally, any program that we assist our players with such as poker boot camps / cruises are included in the contract value. We set these values somewhat low for the first year so that if a player turns out to not be what we are looking for, then we are only binded for that 1 year contract and have no obligation to renew. However, even in the first year, we are offering our best players seats to major events and offering many of our players entry into other events. ----Live Tournaments & Travel----We send out certificates with contracts that help with player travel. These certificates will cover hotel stay and on occasion, food and drink. You still must pay for airfare, hotel taxes and any additional costs you incur during your stay. The exception to this would be if you were to win a seat into an event, in which case we would pay for your airfare and basically 'put you up' for the length of the tournament. Every player that is contracted with us will have live event opportunities. That is part of their contract. They must wear our apparel, and forfeit a percentage of their winnings. The first live tournament will be held next in December in Atlantic City, Nj, USA at the Tropicana. The initial dates for September conflicts with the Borgata Winter open. We will be staking a few select players for the Winter Open. Every contracted player is invited to attend the December event. Specific details will be released shortly. Please do not call for details yet. I promise to keep you guys posted. ----Playing Non-Sponsored Players & Buy-In Events----We are scheduling a full roster of events for all of you. Events that will be coming soon will be actual buy-in events that we will transfer the buy-in directly to you and the event will be played with sponsored AND non-sponsored players. The events will be held on a few different sites and we are open to suggestions for sites that you prefer.----So Called Freerolls----As to our first few tournaments; many players have been calling these tournaments 'Freerolls'. I understand how they can be viewed this way. However, what many of the players need to understand, (And I've seen many of you do very much so) is that we ARE monitoring. If you treat these tournaments like Freerolls and don't play your best, it's very hard to justify offering more money to you to play. Most of our players are very serious and are looking improve their games while moving up with our help. This is what we want. We want our players to succeed with our help. You may think these are 'Freerolls' but we still are putting money up every week trying to find the best of the best and who is really making the cut. Plus everyone has the opportunity to win a decent amount of money and if you don’t try your hardest, you’re the only one to blame. If you aren't going to take it seriously, you are wasting your time. I'm not trying to be rude; I just feel that some of you, some more than others, need a little focus. For the most part, all of you are doing very well. We like the play overall that we’ve seen and are actually surprised with a lot of you.

I know tell me about it I don't know what I'm going to do
I think cfinn has given you enough information to realize the people who set up this "program" have a history of immoral behavior. To think that they have somehow shed their past skin & are now offering new poker players $6000 if they just send in $100 is a little naive to be honest. They should be reported & you should never send them a dime....Hope that helps you clarify what you should do.

Hello all. I am a sponsored player for Poker Payday .com and I just wanted to clear up a few things. I do not feel "scammed" in any way shape or form. We are all being sen't to the Tropicana Casino in AC in December and I have been contacted by PPD as to accomodations etc. As posted in an earlier post I noticed that someone hit the nail on the head. Thousands of players applied for this sponsorship and only a few hundred are approved. Those who where not, complain that this is a scam etc endlessly. If you feel that this is not legit "THEN DON'T FULFILL THE CONTRACT'" and certinly don't complain after. I wish you the best of luck and if you where chosen and decline, then I hope you are not kicking yourself in the you know what in a year. I know I won't be.itsallmine40 B)

How do you know that everyone is not approved? From what the site is telling you.I mean you come on here with your first post and don't really give any good information other than they are sending you to a tournament in AC, but you have not been yet....lol....What have they given you other than just promises so far??,It's a contract, but not many legit busineses will make you pay $99 out of pocket for 6k in return...like others have said..."take it out of the contract"I mean it is a pretty good concept and with the staking thread a couple days ago, I thought about maybe trying to do something similar with a online staking business, but just don't see this being a legit one.

OkI am taking one for the team to put this to rest once and for all.I passed the test and paid the dough. I will keep you all posted on what happens. They have NEVER asked me to download anything. They have NEVER even sent an email with attachment so I am fine there. Stay tuned for an update. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE skeptic. So fair and balanced reporting is what you will get.

why couldn't you just have staked 30 people for a $3 tourney? At least you would have gotten good attention instead of wasting your money

I think we need to sticky this topic, as it would be nice to know how this site turns out. Wouldn't want it getting lost in the mess that is the general forum. Good luck getting your money, hope it isn't a scam
