KappaKid83 0
So I regularly play in the Dealers Choice Game on Games Grid, at both 1/2 and 5/10 depending on what game is going and looks juicy. I see a lot of EP Raisers turn over A2xx, and the xx is garbage and unsuited most time, which strikes me as odd. I dont know if I am playing the game too tight but I tend to either limp or dump that hand depending on what the table is like, but I lean more towards limping and then dumping on a bad flop for my hand. I know that part is probably too weak/tight but I just dont see the merit in playing a hand that that really has a possibility for only half the pot unless you make the wheel or two garbage pair, which may not be good ne ways as lots of players like to take flops with double paired hands and could have a set. So is it really right to raise with ANY A2?Thanks For The HelpJeff
antistuff 0
no its notfrom ep hands like aa2x aa3x a2qk suited etc.... are raisiable handshands that have only low posibilites you want lots of players. do not raise hands like a246 from ep (after a bunch of limpers its ok because you want the button). Sluggo 0
It's right to raise with any A2 when...your opponents are looseyour opponents are bad (relative to you)the game is shorthandedplayers have already limped
KVOM 0
I play only PL, so preflop raising with a bare A2 is generally a losing proposition. It often becomes too expensive to draw for half the pot. At limit I think you more often will get pot odds to go to the river.
Chamonyx 0
Open raising with A2 rags from EP is not a good idea in a full loose game like this. The most likely way you will win with this hand is from the low. Given that that is only half the pot, you need as many players in as possible to make it profitable - especially as you have no cf protection - and open raising goes directly against that.A naked A2 is a bit like a low PP in Holdem: you can hit a good flop and still end up getting screwed by the river - because everyone else is playing 4 cards to your 2. bassplayer45459 0
Agree with the statement above. Read the omaha hi/lo section in super system 2. A2 may look great, but if it is with two junk cards like 9 6 off or others cards that are not working together, you can toss it and not put yourself at a disadvantage. bicketybam 0
a2xx is MARGINAL try to avoid a2xx from early positions unless you have some form of counterfeit protection...idealy a23x...however a24x is also playable from most positions...also try to avoid the most useless hi lo cards...987...if two of your cards are a 9, 8, or 7 you should probably toss this hand...gl to you sir
navybuttons 15
for the limits and games that most of the people that post on this forum play A2XX is probably a playable hand from any position.and when you get into the higher limits its worth it sometimes to raise with less than A2 like A3xx and A4xx because your opponents have trouble putting you on a hand.to answer your question its not always right to raise with A2XX. after a bunch of hands you instinctively learn when its right to raise with it.
