How Could The "average Chip Stack" Ever Decrease?

Cardplayer's line chart shows the average chip stack as decreasing at some points. Sometimes a decent amount. How is this possible? As people bust out, it will only increase. Maybe I am missing something, but I cannot think of how this is possible.Thanks.

It could be because CardPlayer only follows about 10% of the players by name, so that if those players are performing worse than average, their average chips decrease.

Or, you are looking at the chip leader stack line instead of the average chip stack which is on a slow steady incline.

I guess it could possibly 'decline' when they are tracking only a certain amount of people and then get fuller counts.I mean if they only estimated 2000 people in play on a given day, but there was actually 2100 when they did a later count it could 'decrease' the average.

No, I was looking at the average stack line. It's on an incline now, it wasn't about an hour after play started today.

There was an article about 17 interns are handling the chip counts. They take different shifts so about nine interns are working at once. They will of course make errors but they are doing a pretty good job in my opinion.
