Okay, so I am a computer donk. I have only had my PC for a little over a year but recently it has gotten extremely slow. Poker sites are very choppy, Daniel's blog stop and goes about 20 times for every video blog, etc. At first I thought I had a virus but I have run 3 spy, virus removal type items over it on several occasions. My buddy told me to do msconfig and see what is running in the background and of course there are tons of items. The problem is every time I start removing things it seems to have messed up something else when I reboot. Can someone give me an idea on what items I can/can't remove? Any other ideas on what my computers issue might be? Thanks.

if you know how, just format and be done
Come on now, shouldn't the "computer donk" comment have given away that I have no idea how to do this?

S & D only does so much.Go to www.fileresearchcenter.com , then in the right hand corner you will see an option to see what is running on your computer.Click it, install the plugin to your browser, and it will run the proccesses against their database and highlight malicious programs.

Did this and it didn't find any bad programs.

It sounds like a connection problem if it's only occurring with websites and streaming video.
Is there a way to find out if it is a connection problem?

delete the 3 gigs of porn you have.JK :club: as your friend said just remove a bunch of those backround programs with msconfig. Look for ones that in the program files folder and not in the windows folder. Usually you will see the icons for the programs running in the backround at the bottom right. Remove the ones with those program names.
