JadeTiger 0
Ok I think this is will absolutely KILL the live poker experience. what is the point of this anyway? If im in a casino I want chips to trick and cards to muck. Idiots.http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_news/news_...class=PokerNewsTwo More Casinos Go PokerTekFully Automatic Table Doesn't Need Dealers, Chips, or CardsPokerTek, the maker of the PokerPro computerized poker table, announced that two more casinos signed on to install the tables.Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma, and Osage National Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, both signed a contract to have two PokerPro tables installed.Recently, the company signed a contract to have its tables placed on ships part of the Carnival Cruise Line. The PokerPro table is a fully automated system that allows people to play any number of poker games face-to-face without a dealer, chips or cards. FatBurger 0
Cardplayer just got blocked at work, but if this is what I'm guessing, it's in use in a few casinos. There have been a couple of people posting here that say they actually kind of like it.I agree with you, but I'd be willing to give it a shot before deciding for sure. Yoda 1
I'm also quite sure most casinos are not/will not go 100% exclusive to this. It will be a very good option for those that wish for a faster game and not worrying about all the chip stuff, misdeals etc. You will still have the option to goto a "regular table"

blacktie31 0
I'm in tulsa, I'll go check this out and report.I think it may work out to be a good thing.Maybe attract some of those slot players over.
FatBurger 0
It seems like they've done a good job with it at least, refining it pretty well. It's also nice to be able to look back at past hands.
No_Neck 0
does this mean the won't be charging $10/ hour in rake? that would be great.
Devilkin 0
I'll disagree with the OP. Faster games, no errors and no tipping is all +EV. I'll save my poker chip tricks for the home games.Dev
Figger 0
I don't like it. What's the point. I'm already playing like this when I play on-line. I want the feel of the cards and chips. I'm stare at a computer screen enough as it is.
Encicra 0
There will still be rake lol.

Rarely is it ever enough to get bothered by and if it is the floor normally makes the right decision. If I wanted to sit in front of a computer screen and play poker id stay home. The casino is a unique experience that is not duplicated at a home game. The only benefit to these tables is that you get to see your opponent. But the lack of chips, cards, and 'Derek the Dealer' making the occaisional wise-crack to get a bigger tip would keep me from sitting at one.

Yoda 1
The point is obvious. Faster. No mistakes. No tipping. And if you re-read what I said the last time. You will almost certainly have the option of choosing one or the other. So what's the problem? Everybody wins.

I play poker live to make money . . everything else is just dressing. Plus, the one 'cool' dealer you get is often offset by the slow, undertrained, boring or down dealers that plague live play.Think of it - faster play, no errors and the ability to see and read your opponent. I think its an ideal mix of online vs live.Dev

Im not there to experience anything. I mean it makes sense that I drive to the casino and sit in uncomfortable chairs for hours on end when I could 'make money' sitting in front of my computer screen in my boxers. The casino atmosphere is just dressing and the only reason I go is to make money. Man I should have thought harder about this before posting.
pokerinc 0
how do you hide your hole cards? doesn't it seem like you could just kinda lean over when getting your drink?Somebody used one of these things or have a better shot and want to share on that?
SanDiego13 0
I am a dealer at a casino in California. There is a competitive company putting out a similar table. I can't remember the name but our casino is getting 2 of them. Your cards are covered until you put pressure on the screen. Depending where you touch the screen you can look at just a corner of your cards or the whole thing. It is pretty easy to conceal your cards.Personally I think these are good and bad. I am in no way worried that they will somehow kill live play. There are too many people that like the chips and the whole experience. I really hope all the stiffs play on them. The rake will be the same as a normal live table from what I understand. Of course more hands per hour. They can also be used to run Single Table SNg's. If I want to play on a machine I will just play on my computer. Especially a cash game. The rake is way less. Also the chance of these getting to a lot of casinos is pretty rare. Pokertek from what I know is not selling these which like shufflers means they can only be rented and trust me they are not cheap.

What was your opinion?

chgocubs99 0
Well, lost all hope with this thread.....Sorry to be a jagoff, but what do you expect? No, I have not used PokerTek, and obviously, neither has anyone else that has read this thread in the last 3 hours. Should everyone that hasn't used it isn't reply with "no"? And I can't believe with 3K posts you have never seen a thread deviate from the original topic before.
