The African American Advantage

Recommended Posts

So i come to this site to pick up some knowledge to become a better poker player, and I have to be offended by this bullshit. Turd, you racist piece of ****. And people think that blacks are just blowing this all out of proportion when we mention racism. As for athletes such as Phil Ivey and Tiger Woods, each has reached the pinnacle of their game based upon their ability to compete at a higher level. Neither one of them you can say has gotten their endorsement deals based upon their race. Damn, this is such crap. I hope this isnt indicative of what FCP stands for as a forum. Turd, you are not funny.
I can understand being offended, but to say Phil Ivey doesn't benefit from his race is just plain wrong. This has been discussed before and DN commented that it is his biggest asset. Tiger didn't get his endorsement deals because of his race, he got them because he was no arguments the best in the game. Where's Chip Reese? I haven't seen him all over tv.

At my local casino, they charge a higher rate for blacks and jews. I thought it was just racist, but now I realize it makes sense due to our higher oxygen usage.I did call a guy down with no pair the other day though because he was black, and so i assumed he was dishonest. thankfully, despite his blackness, he did not beat me up later. presumably, he was scared that my brother-in-law was a lawyer.
yep, this is the funniest thread i have read in a long time.(i am assuming that no1 is actually racist)

i like turd, i enjoy most of his posts and i think hes one of the good posters on fcp...but i realy didnt find this funny....and the fact is, if some noob made this exact post, this thread would 10 pages of severe flames.
Look guys. This topic isn't supposed to be funny. I don't know why people keep bringing that up. Just because I joke around on here from time to time doesn't mean that I can't discuss serious issues too. Anyone can PM me for a copy of the petition to keep these African Americans out of our poker rooms.

Technically, you don't have to be offended by anything. You make that choice on your own. Oh, and don't even get me started on Tiger Woods. While all the other white golfers are wilting under the heat he just keeps on trucking. Talk about unfair. He's genetically engineered for that shit.

Chip has said that he made a conscious decision to try to stay out of the spotlight.

Probably time to lock er up. Clearly Turd was intentionally being a shmuck, it's what he does. If you're new to this forum, don't be offended. Anytime race is brought up, it ends poorly, especially when joking around in a racist manner with generalities.

If you want poker advice, go to the strat forums. Stay awwwway from General if you value your sanity and are easily offended. And if you have no sense of humor. And if you are a *****.

Where's chip reese, chip reese does'nt make as many final table tv appearances. This is idiotic, "its his biggest asset" I think you must have misquoted DN, Is his biggest asset not that he is an all round great player. This is the most idiotic post I have ever seen. "Tiger didn't get his endorsement deals because of his race, he got them because he was no arguments the best in the game" Not to mention from a pure logic point of view your argument is sooo flawed, but also your basis is way off, again I ask the mods to lock up this thread as its bringing out all the closet racists

Not to mention when you're not looking they will steal your chips.
I didn't want to bring that up, but it's true. After each session when I'm sitting next to a black guy I review the casino tapes just in case.

Close call, Danny. I'm glad things turned out ok. Just a thought for you guys. When I first show up to a cardroom I take a walk around the parking lot and write down the license plate numbers of the cars that look as though black people might own them. That way if anything goes down I have some leads. Gotta watch your back.

I'm starting this thread to discuss something that has been on my mind for quite some time now. Over the past few years that I've been playing, it's become increasingly obvious that African Americans have a distinct advantage over the rest of the playing field. Mods, please at least read this before you decide to lock it up. This is in no way racist. It's simple fact.I have come to this conclusion after much thought, and my reasoning is as follows. First of all, African Americans have darker skin than the rest of us which makes it much harder, if not impossible, to pick up tells. If the card room is poorly lit or there is even the slightest shadow there is no way to distinguish features on their faces, much less pick up a tell. Secondly, they're just flat out more intimidating than white people. Who is apt to make you more nervous: A skinny old white guy or some young African American with gangster clothes on who may or may not be packing heat? I think the answer is obvious. The African American's fold equity is exponentially higher than that of his Caucasian counterpart. I know I'm not going to be calling down any bluffs from a black guy. You think I want to get a cap busted in my ass? No sir.My last argument proves to be slightly more intangible, and thus, harder to prove, but I think that if you keep an open mind you'll see where I'm coming from. I have noticed that while sitting next to an African American at the poker table that I become lightheaded and often have ended up with a headache. At first I dismissed this as coincidence, but then I realized something. African Americans have much wider nostrils than people of other races. Therefore they breathe more air, and diminish the air supply for the rest of the people at the table. If you've sat at a table with three or more African Americans I'm sure you've experienced this. Now, everyone knows that without oxygen the brain works less efficiently. It becomes harder to think, reason, and make the correct decisions without proper oxygen intake. This is yet another advantage that the African American has over white people.I have submitted this argument to my local state representative, and have asked him to consider writing a bill that would propose the banning of African Americans from poker rooms around the country. I personally have no problem with African Americans. In fact, one of my friends is Honduran, and that's close enough. The simple fact is that they simply have too much of an advantage over the rest of the people in the card room. It's unfair, and I'm finally speaking up about it. Discuss.
No, not racist at all. Amusing theory though. s/w
