Sychar 0
Do many people here play Magic, or just comment about all the poker players that do/used to?I'm looking to get rid of a bunch of old Magic cards. This is a sidetrack because so many people kept talking about it in the DN update thread. FourFlusher 0
I was just going to risk it all and ask: WTF is Magic?I've been seeing it all day, have no clue.
Sychar 0
I was just going to risk it all and ask: WTF is Magic?I've been seeing it all day, have no clue.Magic is a card game. Fantasy based. Lots of the current games like pokemon and whatever were based off of it. Made by Wizards of the Coast. Actually called "Magic the Gathering" if you ever search it.
Dubey 1,035
remember in high school, you'd see a group of 6 or 7 weird looking guys huddled together at a table in the back corner of the cafeteria?they were playing Magic: the gathering.
FourFlusher 0
Hmmm...thanks.It came more than a little after my high school experience, so, I missed it.If I saw six guys huddled in the cafeteria, there was going to be a food fight.

SavageHenry 0
I grew up in seattle so Magic was everywhere. i played a little bit but it got really expensive to be competitive so i couldn't really get to serious with it. You needed to either be in on the ground floor and have the cards or be willing to shell out thousands of dollars for some of the early cards to even have a shot at winning. This was before all the tournament rules and duelist convention and stuff that made things a bit more fair. Finkel is a pro magic player like David Williams. He had a deck named after him iirc..a blue permission deck that didnt let the other player do anything. The card game i actually enjoyed the most was a game called shadowfist. It was based on old kung fu movies like iron monkey and had more in common with poker since its multiplayer you could bluff and table talk and get people to not do things based on your chatter...a lot like poker. If players were experienced enough and knew the cards they could also make guesses as to what you holding in your hand and do things based on this. i kind of miss those games. The genre is pretty dead here in seattle. All the wizards of the coasts are gone and its pretty hard to find magic or any other game.

fleung22 1
I used to have the sickest deck that I could play fast or slow. I had 12 duel lands (blue, red, black)...then somebody stole my duel lands and I never touched the game again.yeah yeah...I'm a geek...
