Imperial Palace In Vegas

Recommended Posts

Has anyone stayed here? I am going in January and everything is sold out. It is between this place and the Alladin but this is half the price of the Alladin.Any input would be appreciated.

I usually stay here. It is not anything fancy, but has a great location (next to Harrah's and acrossed from Mirage.) I would stay there again.

It's a bit of a dump relative to the surrounding area but like above poster says...it's in the heart of the strip so great location.Rooms are decent and very affordable so that's the plus. Beware of the ground floor rooms in the back parking area though...not a good place to be late night.

Nothing wrong with the IP. I've stayed there probably a half dozen times. Cheapest place to stay mid-strip. I'd rather save some money on a room since I spend very little time there. It isn't as fancy as some of the others, but it has its own poker room and is convenient to several other good poker rooms (Harrah's, Mirage, Ceasar's, Venetian). Also, they have the best poker comps on the strip ($3 an hour). My only advice...don't eat there, the food isn't very good.

It looks like it is catered toward asians, not that, that really matters.
I'm not sure what you mean by that comment but last time I was there (which was last week) there were almost no asians in sight.

So what about the Alladin, it is 700+- for Imperial for 3 nights and $1,000 for alladin. Is it worth the extra $300??? (includes air faire)

You know how if you go to certain hotels in Hawaii they are catered to the Japanese, because so many vacation there, from the pictures this looked like a place that catered to Asains (again not that it matters, just an observation)

It's probably shaped up now, but that place used to have serious bad mojo-"On September 27, 1988, Gaming Control Board agents entered Imperial Palace where they found a "war room" which housed a multi-million dollar collection of Nazi memorabilia. On October 6th, Engelstad apologized publicly for showing "poor taste" in housing the collection at his resort and throwing the parties, which he called "stupid and insensitive."

Rank - I. P. = 4 out of 10Aladdin = 8+ out of 10, as it is a full service mega hotel in just as nice a location. You want basic no frills nice enough cheapo, go I.P.You want something far nicer, go Aladdin. With a wife in tow...I would pick the better property, especially if shes picky.GL!

I've stayed at Imperial Palace, and if you are like me when I'm in Vegas and hardly in your room, then it is more than enough. It's a decent room with below average casino, but it's in a prime location and not as busy as the other big casinos on the strip. On a side note, I'm heading to Vegas myself on Sunday. I'm staying on the old strip for the first time at the 4 Queens. A friend of mine got us a rediculous deal we couldn't pass up. I heard it's a little on the sketchy side, but curious if anyone has ever stayed there and how it was? Like I said, I'm only in my room for about 6 hours a day to sleep and that's it, so as long as it's not a total dive, I'm cool with it.

What do you mean by this?
He's saying the comp you $3 for every hour you play. Personally, and this is only my personal opinion, the hotel is a dump (lets leave out non-strip hotels like the Westard Ho), the poker is horrible (structures, limits, comps) - If you can't stay at the Bellagio or a comprable place such as the Wynn, find something that's middle ground like Mirage. Their hotel is clean, the poker room is well run and they will be much more generous with their comps, you just have to ask and be resonable (by this I mean you can't play 3/6 for two hours and ask for a free steak dinner for two at Kokomo's).Another way to look at it is that you hardly spend any time in your room so you can basically use the other hotels for your entertainment and just use the room for sleeping and such.

I stayed there in January, and I agree, the location is excellent...and from my experience, so are their drinks! I wouldn't recommend the "dealer-tainers" though....they seem a little creepy.Oh, and count on hearing "A little less conversation, a little more action" playing on the loudspeaker every time you walk through the lobby.

My wife is a hair stylist, there is a huge hair show at the mandalay bay that weekend. Every main hotel is already booked (late January) so these and the flamingo are my best options!I've never hard of Vegas being sold out, its ridiculous. Aparaeently they aren't suffering from 9/11 anymore!

I stayed there last June becaues of its location and how cheap it was. The room was not dirty per se, but there were little things. The painting on the wall had sort of slid down in the frame so only part of it was showing through the frame. Also it was clear that some one had thrown a little party in the room before us as little pecies of crepe paper were taped to the top of the wall in some places, like some one had pulled down the paper but the paper was torn little pecies were still up there. These type of things didn't really bother me, but I don't have a wife.My only real complaint was that the bed was a little uncomfortable (think sandpaper sheets). But I would stay there again because I am cheap.

I stayed there in March and the location is awesome. Just make sure when you check in that you ask for a room towards the center of the hotel. If you get a room in the back, you will be awaken by construction. I asked for a room upgrade when I checked in and I got it. The room up grade was the Luv A Dub room which was a very large room with a King Size bed, Mirrors on the ceiling and a large roman tub in in the bedroom room area (you have a regular bathroom with shower and tub as well.) There are also mirrors above the Luv A Dub tub. So, since you are going with your wife you may enjoy this. As a single fat chick it was just a slap in the face that I was all alone. The main thing is do not get excited about the tub. Even though it is the size of a small swimming pool, it does not have any jets. It is mainly a large tub to take a bubble bath in. It is not a jacuzzi. Hope this helps. One last thing... make sure you pack conditioner... they give you bubble bath, shampoo and lotion but no conditioner. There is a hair dryer though.

i stayed there last week... and this is my take....POSITIVE POINTS ABOUT THE "IMPERIAL PALACE..."1) great location....end of "positive points"NEGATIVE POINTS....1) everything elseseriously my friend... avoid this place at all costs. - your wife will NOT be impressed- the rooms are not filthy but definitely not what i would call clean- the place is old and run-down- has a seriously bad vibe that i can't quite put my finger on but is dark, gloomy and depressing- the food sucks - the service sucks- the wake-up calls consist of some azzhole banging on your door at approx. the time you requested- if your room is facing the pool, don't plan on sleeping past 9am because that's when they start blasting the '80's music - and when i say blasting, i mean fukin' BLASTING.- i can't even tell what their "theme" is - is it asian - or polynesian - or 1980's?i'm not even sure THEY know the aladdin on the other hand is exellent - $300 in the grand scheme of a vegas trip is not a huge sum is not a huge sum - so to say it's worth it is an easy call IMO - especially if you are going with your wife.and by the way, the aladdin has what is considered by many (including me) to be the very best buffet in vegas - and vegas has some great buffets so that's saying a lot - definitely worth checking out whether you stay there or not.

Agree on the buffet at the Aladan. I also agree that this is not a place that will impress. The elevators are slow and the hotel is like a maze. The main thing is... how much time are you going to spend in your room? If you want romance... go somewhere else. If you are going there to party and gamble than it is a decent value. One of the best values that you can get from time to time is the Monte Carlo. If you hit it just right, you can get pricing for about the same as IP but it is a much nicer place and a much better vibe. There is this low life wierd vibe at IP. Also, the IP is scheduled for implosion at the end of 2007.

As I mentioned earlier my wife is a hair stylist and we will be there for a hair show, so the shampoo and conditioner will not be an issue

lol. Don't go dissing the Ho! It's hard to beat a 2-bedroom suite for $49 a night complete with "biohazard" containers. Plus, "Elvis" singing along to a karaoke machine in the lounge. Nice!In any event, it's now closed (along with, shortly, nearly everything else on that end of the Strip).

I agree with the comment about the Monte Carlo; it also has a nice (although small) poker room, where they serve the microbrews from their in-house brewery.
